i used to have 35% front windows and i think it was 15% on my rear quarter and rear windows. i then decided not too long ago to go darker, so the rear quarter and rear windows are now 5%. i also got my windshield tinted 55%, but a day after that was done, a rock got kicked up and i had to replace my windshield. i have not driven at night yet, but rear visibility isnt a huge priority because i plan to install a digital rear view mirror

You have a picture of your rear tint?
We share the same car color, so would like to see how that looks from the back.

This has been an interesting discussion for sure.

This is mine with 15% ceramic tint all the way around (nothing on the windshield). Apologies for the dirty car.

I personally think the car silhouettes popped way more before the tint, but I suppose thats subjective.

On a side note, us in NC will no longer have to worry about tint (hopefully) in the next year. Theres a bill on the block right now to remove tint check from inspections.
Lucky you guys. I'm from a country where you can't even fart without permission.

Will removing it from inspections also remove it from being pulled over and ticketed?

In Texas last year was the final year for inspections for vehicle registration renewals, only commercial vehicles, so there won't be any need for tint inspections other than traffic stops.

I took another look at the Mustang generation silhouettes, and they are not as hidden as I remembered - they look about like what has been posted. The things that are no longer visible are the static-cling Route 66 decals I used to put in the quarter windows, and now have put in the junk box.

I wish I had that answer, the bill that I saw referred only to inspections. I don't think cops will ever pull you over for tint though, save for those who black out their windshield.

I will keep that in mind. I've driven BMWs for years with sport suspensions, so I doubt it's going to be "too stiff", but since I have not tried it, I will definitely keep it in mind. We had a Yukon (non Denali) prior to our F350, but it just could not haul the freight...literally. It had problems getting our boat over the small hills between here and Baltimore, much less the Appalachians between here and Chicago. It's not that heavy, but an F350 gets it up the grades so effortlessly.

Really hoping Ford actually comes out with the 4 door sedan based on the mustang chassis because I think that's the car I am really wanting, but if not, I think an Explorer will do.
