Thanks for this one. I'm going for the 5.
I don't want people see me from the rear haha.
Yeah man, no problem! 👍
That is actually why I put that one up when I found it.
I know it can be hard to make decisions based on pictures alone and just wanted to make sure you were seeing the 'whole' picture!

Appreciate it. Yeah it's hard to compare with pictures but I think your picture was very detailed. We have some very nosey people in my country, and don't want to give them reasons to keep looking inside. Especially when parked or in a traffic.

5% is limo tint. I had 5% on the rear of my last car and ot was way to dark at night. 10% would be the lowest I'd go.

My wife did an 80 on the fronts for her car mostly for UV/heat rejection, and then went darker in the rear...35 IIRC

I've yet to do a tint on a car I've owned, but for my next new car, I will probably get 20's on the back and MAYBE a 90 on the front for heat rejection/UV, but I might leave it as is depending on the vehicle and factory tint. Heck, the way sedans and coupes are disappearing, my next car might have to be a *Shudder*...SUV...

LOL

Dark Horse and an Explorer ST in my driveway. My wife is asking for window tint on her front door windows for the ST.
I would have thought the ST already had good tint...at least for the back seat and rear windows, but I could see needing some heat rejection in the front. If nothing else, maybe it will help keep the fuel economy up by not needing as much AC load..rofl.

Seriously, how does the ST do performance wise? How does it handle? I drove the Mustang when looking for a new car and I just couldn't pull the trigger on it. Great car, but I was hoping for something a little bigger. Maybe something like the old Chevy SS (NOT the Camaro SS), but the Dodge Charger is just too big and heavy...

I love my F350, but honestly, some days I just want something a little easier to park and get into.

The back seat and rear windows she is happy with, but that level of tint would be illegal in my state on the front door windows, so I am going to have to do them somewhat lighter to avoid encounters with the local constabulary.

The ST is great with respect to performance. Handling is good, keeping in mind that it is an suv, so it is not going to handle like a Dark Horse with a handling package. But one of the reasons I was considering one in the first place was a rental of an Explorer on vacation. I was surprised that it drove a lot like a car on curvy roads and nothing at all like our Denali XL ginormous limousine type SUV.

One thing to consider with the ST is that the suspension is pretty stiff. If you like a softer ride, you may want another trim level. You can get the engine as optional in the Platinum without the harsh ride of the ST.

The Explorer is also easy to park in comparison, but plenty of room for our family of four and groceries and so on.

We have the same setup in our driveway as well. For the same reasons. ST is definitely no slouch. We opted for 20% ceramic tint with a 6" visor strip of 5% ceramic tint across the top of the windshield. Changes the whole attitude of the vehicle IMO and that 6" strip cuts down on the need to pull the visors down on her drive into the office in the morning. I have the same visor on the DH with 20% on the other 5 windows.

I will keep that in mind. I've driven BMWs for years with sport suspensions, so I doubt it's going to be "too stiff", but since I have not tried it, I will definitely keep it in mind. We had a Yukon (non Denali) prior to our F350, but it just could not haul the freight...literally. It had problems getting our boat over the small hills between here and Baltimore, much less the Appalachians between here and Chicago. It's not that heavy, but an F350 gets it up the grades so effortlessly.

Really hoping Ford actually comes out with the 4 door sedan based on the mustang chassis because I think that's the car I am really wanting, but if not, I think an Explorer will do.

The dealer pre-loaded my 2024 GT with dark-looking side and rear tint, none on the front as far as I can tell. I'm sure it's cheap stuff, but it looks OK. I don't know the percents, but I assume they stayed within Arizona limits. The one thing I don't like about it is it's impossible to see the pony generations graphic on the rear window.

I'm going to tint my windows, but before doing so, I want to know how much % light our windows let through from the factory.

In my country, I'm not allowed to tint the windshield and the front side windows totally dark. Only the rear and the rear side windows can be blacked out.

The front and side windows should at least allow 55% of light through.

This means I can use a 45% tint and to be on the safe side I can only use 35% tint, but this math only works if the windows are not tinted from the factory.

Most windows already come a little bit tinted, and I don't know how much that is on our Mustang.

Any body has an idea?
