I am taking off my Dark Horse HP Trofeo RS tires next week. They have about 1800 miles on them. I will be putting on Michelin 4S tires more suitable for cooler rain in the pacific NW. I posted an ad to sell for offers on Facebook marketplace but nobody seems to want them.
Are you guys just trashing the tires after you take them off or are you able to sell them for a decent amount?

If you haven't already, post an ad for them in the classifieds forum here.

Still a bit early in the year. As warmer temps and Summer approaches, I think you'll receive more interest.

Edit,

If you're pressed for time and cannot wait, look into city and county offices; many take the tires for recycling. Any commercial tire seller will accept them for free, maybe pay you something for them.

I mean I am willing to pay for the shipping to MD if you are going to throw them away, assuming that the shipping isn't more than a couple hundred bucks.

Years past, the shippers might have had a freight option, for slow-mode. Since the pandemic, these transport chains are like two-to-three days.

Shipping four tires will eat the cost of what they'd normally sell for, used. While it would be a wash, the seller netting little, if anything, they would find a good home and get well-used by another Mustang owner.

That's what I am offering. A new home to get well used by another Mustang owner. 2-3 hundred for shipping is fair to me for tires that still have 70-80% life left in them. If I was local I would be willing to pay that for them straight to the man.

Easy PEASEY!

Take them to a machine gun shoot or tannerite friendly range.
Place the stack of tires at least 150 yards out, no more than 4 pounds of tannerite in the center of the stack. Shoot the tannerite and see how high you can launch the top 3 tires.

:-D

Remember: Video, or it never happened.

At 1800 miles, the heat cycling has almost certainly left those ties. Plenty of tread, but mine were dangerous after 2000 miles, and my experience wasn’t unique. They stick like glue for the first 1500-1600 miles.

Thanks for the helpful and funny Insights. It sounds like they could be worth a few hundred bucks and shipping isn’t worth the cost/hassle. For anyone that is local here in BC, come pick them up!
