Surprised no one mentioned the Nissan 400Z yet.

I was STRONGLY considering one of those, but ultimately I was not sold on the engine. I'm not crazy about V6's, and I'm particularly not a fan of turbos.

400Z drives very well, imo. It's a slightly softer GT car that can still hunker down and dance, feels old school in a good way (probably because underneath its a 20 year old car). With that being said, the thought of having to work on that car in 10 or 15 years when something breaks truly scares me. Its a real tight fit in that engine bay.

Mustang is pretty much the only modern car that fits the bill of Stickshift, rwd, non-turbo GT car that can be easily worked on. CT5V is in an entirely different price range, BMW's are far too temperamental (though they drive well), and GR86's aren't satiating my hunger for power.

2025 Dark Horse 700A Blue Ember Manual, 1985 Toyota Celica Supra MK2,
was between Darkhorse and ct5v blackwing
was leaning darkhorse and once i saw how my local Chevy/Cadillac dealers were unwilling to do msrp it was over for them
went DH 700A with HP
With as long as I waited for my Dark Horse I was starting to lose hope and the CT5 V Blackwing was exactly what I was looking at purchasing before my build date was actually confirmed.

I waited to see what Dodge was going to do with the Charger, but when it went all electric I was out. If they had put out a highpo version of that inline 6 from the start I would have looked at that. But so glad they didn't. I love my GT.

I had actually been waiting for the NEW Chargers with the twin turbo V6...550HP. But... dealers system even had orders cancelled. Apparently issues with software and/or overheating so now not supposed to be out till late this year or even next year, instead of this summer (June). So I looked around. For comparison pretty much it seemed like (new, not used) the only alternatives really were the BMW M2 and the Nissan Z. They were nice...probably would have gone with the BMW, but was just a lot more money for what you get..at least IMHO. Never had a Mustang before and had kind of forgotten they were around...but I went and checked it out. Once I drove my GT Premium...that was it..easy decision! I wanted a car I could play with and mod as well and this seems to be a great choice for that as well! I really am loving this car. Very glad I ended up getting it!
