Hey All,

I was wondering how much you guys are getting out of your V8’s.

After driving 1200+ km so far, my city average is 7 km/litre ~ 16.4 mpg… and for highways i managed to get 10 km/litre ~ 23.5 mpg. This is based on distances divided by how much am filling at stops.

Also, quite impressed with how stable and silent it is cruising at 100 mph at 2740 rpm.

Just passed 8500 miles today. Lifetime average 17.6. My ford explorer got about 19.6 with half the cylinders and 20% of the fun

Edit: drove Dallas to Houston and back this weekend and got about 23.5 all in.

I also pretty much always fill up with 87 octane and also do plenty of driving like a hooligan

24.1 MPG. Suburban driving with a lot of highway. Still driving like granny at 600 miles. Occasional pull though.

Daily commute, speeds 0-45 mph, getting 22-23, highway with cruise at 75, 30-32 mpg. Yes, on a GT!

Your one of the few I"ve seen who are using regular 87 Octane. I believe most here are running Premium (91 or 93). Just curious if you've ever run Premium and if you have did you notice any difference in mileage or power?

Placebo of course but feels slower and gas mileage seemed worse than 87. Not trolling.
bet mileage decreased cause I would punch it more trying to see if it felt faster. It doesn’t on the street

Wow 16.2 cmpated to 24.7 is quite a difference. Any idea why? Is that an apples to apples comparison (driving route, conditions. etc)?

That's an interesting observation. I do plan on using 93 but maybe using 87 needs some investigation on my part. I know I've asked that very question on this forum and the vast majority say to use premium for better performance, etc.

Gear ratios is one big difference, plus the Dark Horse only has a couple hundred miles on it. I have the Gurnet flap on all the time and I know it has a negative impact on mileage. I kept my S550 to take on trips because I anticipated poor mileage on the Dark Horse.

Ouch that’s quite $$$ the car sound is a mileage breaker, I always get lower consumption at Quiet exhaust.

Track exhaust is pedal seductive :D in a good way.
