Did you weigh the car when it was stock, by any chance? Just curious how much you were able to lose.

I'd be interested to know as well. To what do you attribute most of the weight savings?

Looks like about 500-600 lbs. of weight loss, wow! Interested to know what you completely pulled vs. savings from replacement/aftermarket parts.

Also amazing how consistent those 10 speed cars are.

Why not lift off the body, remove the doors and trunk lid and then we’ll see what she’s really got. :like:

@IPOGT These are normal basics for drag cars, if that were my build I’d say it’s bone stock on a drag pack.

10.9s stock.

I get asked this alot. It's quite a bit of cash to do what I've done.
But then I look at guys that just throw a blower or turbo on and spend $10-12k on those mods, and still aren't in the 10's.
Now just imagine if I add a good tune on E85 how quick it'll be. Then add boost on top of that. Oh my.
And since I do all the work to the car myself, I save alot of money on labor costs.
So it's not nearly as bad. But it is fun to see the results when you put in the work, and use old school technics to go fast.
Boost isn't always the answer.

The factory parts are ridiculously heavy.
Brakes -140#
Wheels and tires -68#
Driveshaft -12#
Exhaust -72
Battery -40#
K member -67#
Those are the big losses, then taking off the stuff you don't need, like the underside covers, front bumper, re-enforcement brackets, front seat bar, the spare tire, plus all the miscellaneous nuts and bolts.
All in all I removed exactly 480# out of the car, with out stripping the interior, other then the back seat.
Honestly I think I could take out another 200+# out of the car without any one noticing.

Look forward to seeing the progress you make with it NA. Good job John. The car looks good the way you have it sitting. Keep us posted.

Nice work and times! You bring inspiration to us who work on our cars ourselves  . Definitely excited to see how you progress with it.
