Having a fault pop up with the TPMS. The problem didn't follow with the tire, so I'm assuming it is being caused by a faulty/damaged TPMS receiver. I've hit several potholes throughout the year, but I don't think any of them would do enough damage to cause this problem.

The problem started after I had the wheel rebalanced due to a shake, and since then, the problem pops up after about 25ish miles of driving. The fault will disappear after about 15-20 minutes of idling, but will pop up shortly after once I start driving again. Something tells me the receiver is overheating 🫩

I'll pull the codes tomorrow once my laptop is charged, but is there anyone out there who's had a similar problem to this, and were you able to fix it on your own, or was this a trip to the dealer?

Take the car back to the shop that rebalanced your wheel. That probably is the point of failure. Also the dealership should warranty this i think if the tire shop won't help you. Goodluck 🍻

To clarify, if you check all four wheels' pressures on-screen, is it only the one wheel that is acting up?

Does any wheel register pressure consistently? Does the fob work to lock and unlock the car? If so, the vehicle's receiver and wiring are good. The fob and TPMS transmit to the same vehicle receiver in the back of the car, using the same frequencies. The parcel shelf area.

If it is just the one wheel giving you issues, you know it is that one wheel. If that one wheel is the one that was worked on, they might have damaged something while balancing it.

If more than one wheel is going in and out at random times, I'd go to a dealer to discuss as part of a warranty activity.

TPMS sensors are the one problem I hate to deal with

Assuming that since 3 sensors are working the receiver that is on the left side of the trunk behind the trim is working, if you can isolate out the bad sensor great, if not then you need a tool that reads the sensors on the wheels and remember out car uses 433 Mhz sensors, not 315's.

If the sensor it intermittent, and I can get the SN off it, I use a programmable sensor and input the old ID into the new sensor, that keeps me from having to get the scan tool out and do a SN change in the module, or use the Motorcraft TPMS-19 wake up tool and then a 4 wheel sensor relearn, which is a different procedure than the I have moved the tires around the car when I rotated them now I need to tell the car what tire is on what corner reset.

Unlike the initial TPMS sensors Ford used that were mounted on a band around the inside of the wheel 180 out from the valve stem, the stem mounted ones are hung in such a way every tire tech knows they have to start the tire removal process from a certain point to keep from damaging the sensor, same when putting them on.

The TPMS 19 tool has been copied by everyone and you can buy one for very short money online, and most NAPA stores carry the Schrader EZ sensors and they will program it for the car. IIRC my cost on those sensors has been in the 34 dollar range and I have my own programmer. Then it is just a matter of breaking the bead and forcing the tire down to remove the old one and pop a new one in. Again I have a manual tire machine at home so I can do them without dismounting the tore and needing to rebalance it. At the shop I will normally spin the tire on the balancer just to make sure, it only takes me a couple of minutes to do it. Then use a TPMS 19 or other tool to get it to pair with the car.
