This is making me feel a little suspicious, my Mustang was built July 1st It has been sitting waiting on shipment ever since for almost 2 months.

I caught a sales manager earlier today and he told me that he was able to locate it, and it was sitting at the plant in Michigan waiting on a truck.

Just out of habit, I went to go check the Ford tracker app and into my surprise it said it was delivered on August 11th.

I messaged my sales person and asked to if it arrived last week because it said it did on the tracker.

But she told me she just spoke with two sales managers and they told me that it was still sitting at the plant waiting on transit….. but the app says it was delivered????

Something here seems off to me, I ordered the vehicle April 16th , it went into production on June 18th and then it roll off of the assembly line on July 1st and sat in the built stage for almost 2 months until it randomly said it was delivered a week ago without me or my sales person getting any update.

It’s been over four months since I ordered the vehicle and I still don’t have it but it randomly showed it was delivered a week prior to me writing this, but it never showed up at the dealership.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this ??? I know I posted a lot on here about this matter, but this entire ordeal seems very weird to me.

Whenever I ran the VIN on the car care app it says it was registered in Michigan on 8/19 when it’s supposed to be delivered to KY

Just a wild theory, but is it possible that it was affected by the hail damage and sold via auction or something? Is that something Ford would do with hail damaged cars? Maybe there is a new replacement order entered that will eventually be making its way to you with a new VIN?

I’ve ordered several cars and they all went pretty well. Have followed many other folks’ builds. YOURS IS ONE OF THE STRANGEST THAT I HAVE SEEN!

You are sure that you had correct order number right?(not tracking wrong car) Really strange... delivered to the wrong place? Stolen? Will be interested to hear the outcome of this...

Some time dilation is going on. July was only a month ago not 2. At most it's a month and a half since the start of July.

Funny tho it was 4th July that the damaged happened, wonder what else could of been going on that day. Stray fireworks perhaps.

I Feel you.

I ordered mine 5/19, was built 8/5 and stuck in transport sitting in shipped mode ever since. My estimated delivery date is end of October. that's stupid

What stings the most -get this: the Flatrock Plant where the car was made & sitting in only 1 HOUR away from me and the dealership.

Since you can't call the offices of the plant -I have called Ford Customer Care, Ford Marketing and Dearborn HQ and they all say the same thing-The dealership has more information than they do and are not able to help.

The Owner of the Dealership, my sales guy, and the Dealer order rep have all been outstanding but they do not have any options or control over the shipping. They are as frustrated as I am.

Total time with out a car = 3 & 1/2 months but potentially 5 1/2 months if transport doesn't get this sorted.

Agree with others: sit-down with the dealer and confirm the VIN and order number.

Salespeople take calls and work with differing customers all the time. Maybe they're confusing the OP with someone else. A mis-speak that started months ago. Someone in the back office began associating the OP's name on the ledger with the wrong car. Maybe something like that.

Dealers do buy/sell allocations, but that typically happens when the allocation is unclaimed. For example, the OP needs a model and a far-end dealer has an allocation to build it. The local dealer buys the allocation from the far-end, then places the order.

I've never known of a built vehicle re-directed to another site or dealer. I suppose it's possible for dealers and Regional Managers to coordinate something like that. But it seems like a lot of effort for a car that is not limited in production, has no production holds due to parts or special circumstances.

There is the chance it was damaged in the hail, but the communications on that topic from those that posted seemed clear and well-coordinated: there was no doubt the car had been damaged and totaled. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
