Do y’own thing. Some people are proud of their cars. There are plenty of other social aspects beyond “getting attention at your car”. Everybody has hobbies, I bet some might think yours are silly, but…do y’own thing.

Perhaps it’s being self indulgent watching people enjoy your work. As one who enjoys looking at the work, I do not wonder if I’m being watched. Yet most likely I am. I had my Mustang parked off the side of the road from the “show” vehicles and caught a couple of people taking pictures of it. I didn’t run up and say, hey what ya think? My wife pointed it out and I chuckled, kinda cool.
I saw some vehicles that looked like crap to be honest, but the owner is proud enough to display it, good on them. I also saw some that required a hefty 401K withdrawal looking at the age of the owners.
