Strut tower brace with supercharger?

There is one from VMP but it's made of carbon fiber and thin. People say it does not have structural strength and does not function like the metal one. This is one reason if I go forced induction I'd want to use ProCharger setup. Other option is a different hood. Nice strut brace BTW.

DO NOT buy the VMP carbon fiber one!!! I bought it just because I have a bunch of other carbon trim pieces in my engine compartment. They list the torque specs, I followed them and it cracked.

I knew full well that it wasn't actually doing anything structurally. I just bought it because it looks cool.

I haven't reached out to VMP, but can only assume they will tell me to get lost.

Someone referenced a post from 2025 (if my memory is correct) that showed a stock one that looked like it had been notched on the underside to fit. Sorry, but I didn’t look into it in any detail. It just caught my attention.

yes I think I know what your referring to. in the post the guy cut the hood liner to fit the brace or something like that.

agreed , do not use if you want brace to function as intended.

I went back & read that thread. It provided no info about the strut brace - stock, notched, removed/altered hood liner. The thread did go on to show a VMP install by Joel on his yellow Mustang , but that’s not what the white car had. If the stock brace can be modified & retain its rigidity, that seems like that is the solution.
I want it all - functionality, Whipple, & hood liner. Where’s Elon when we need him. Put one of those SpaceX engineers on this , please.

Somebody could engineer a stiff brace to fit around the Whipple, but it would be costly, and there is probably not enough of a market for it to recoup the costs.

perhaps the GT500/GTD/DH SC brace? might need a higher clearance hood, but it's definitely strong enough for the job
