I might be one of the oldest members on this forum, and I admit to being somewhat behind all the trends and fads. Just got a new '26 and discovered that inside the wheel well of the trunk was NOTHING! Except for the little white funnel needed for the new style non-gas cap...I want a spare tire and a jack. Prolly too old and decrepit to even get the lugs off, but I want something to fill up that space. I have the Eco-boost with regular brakes, (not Brembo), 255/40R/19, so how far back does this bolt pattern go? Does it go back to S550, S197? Would the jack work from S550? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Also check out Automotive Authority for spare tire alone or with scissor jack that will fit in the well with the tire. I bought just the tire & a scissor jack at AutoZone. Wish I had gotten the one with the tire.
Lastly, you will need to protect the pinch welds where the jack contacts the car. Several options:
1. Jack rails that you bolt on under the car. Then you can place the jack anywhere along the rail instead of just the specific jacking points in the manual. Pinch well covered & protected by the rail (I believe. I don’t have them)
2. Pinch weld protectors that have a trench cut out for the pinch weld to sit in & the jack contacts it on the underside. There are 2 styles:
A. Rubber - looks like a hockey puck with a central channel.
B. Metal with a magnet in the trench that attaches to the pinch welds and jack engages it underneath.
Lots of choices on Amazon.
C. Some jacks have a trench built in that straddles the pinch welds.
Also can get OEM jack on eBay. Did that for my Explorer.

I currently run S650 PP wheels on my S197, so the bolt pattern matches. I think the offset on the spare won't clear the S650 PP brake calipers though.

You drive around with a floor jack in your car?
Sure do, have you checked the dimensions of the jack? I doubt you have so look. Have the same jack in my F150. Much safer to use than scissor jacks and the car came without a jack.

Looks small. I guess I was just more concerned about what a 20 pound chunk of metal would do in a collision (which is also lighter than I thought it might be).

Automotive Authority spare. I tested it on my DH HP with Brembos. Cleared easily. Also, when you order it, they ask you what you’re putting it on & sell you the correct one that will clear the brakes.

It’s also inside a plastic bin that one of the members recommended for storage solutions
