For all the bells and shiny door-to-glovebox digital screen(s), the new S650s are lacking a lot in terms of Creature Comfort Technology. Things that are missing:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Digital Screen Rear View Mirror/regular mirror combo (the old-fashioned dimming lever is used to change between the two on my Tahoe)
  • 360° view capability
    • Native supported front facing camera
    • Native supported side cameras
    • Only one rear view camera (two are required for the Digital Screen Rear View Mirror mentioned above)
  • HUD options
  • Electronically foldable mirrors
  • Headlight Dim-on-stop (admittedly, this isn't common in the US at all, but in Japan it's everywhere (and should be mandatory on SUVs))
  • Wireless Connected Car
  • Active drive surroundings monitoring (I've only seen this in Teslas, but it's darn impressive! Not only that, it could have a very real use for racing, drifting, or at the dragstrip)
I get it that not everyone wants or needs any or every one of these - but it's a brand new premium GT and it has half the features of my now 5 year old Tahoe.
A 2LT or 3LT C8 fixes that except adaptive cruise control.
FYI my 2022 F150 XLT has adaptive cruise control.
Hence I have both a DH and a C8.

My Mustang has adaptive cruise control. So no need to get another car for that.

That wasn't the point I was making. I'm aware some of the tech mentioned is offered, but the broader point I made is that the car is still lacking tech for its price
well then most of the Chinese cars have a lot of tech and they are cheap as well

will I compare them to a mustang with a v8 engine that has 500hp ? Hell no

there should be a common sense when comparing things you can't compare anything because you want to

I'm simply comparing money for money value vs tech.

Ofc this is pretty much the only option for a front engine, rear drive V8 mated to a stick, thats why we have them, and Its a superb car in that regard.

But I also absolutely get where some are coming from when they wish it had more tech for the price.

If you cannot put yourself in their shoes, then there's no real discussion to be had.

Like what? The only thing I think the 401a is lacking is the 360 parking. Like I said, it's a Mustang not a Lexus.

You don't get "Tech" for its price.. You get power !
That is and has always been the M.O. of a sports car.

I personally think the 401A we have , has plenty of tech. Maybe too much tech...

Lexus makes a 4 door V8 NA RWD 450 hp sedan with more tech, a nicer interior, similar power, and a Torsen diff that starts at 60K, similar to a Mustang equipped the same way, sooooooo.

Again, I think its completely reasonable to see why *SOME* people are disappointed with either

A) The price of the mustang
or B) The tech compared to the rest of the market.

If you cannot put yourself in their shoes, there's no discussion to be had.

So you are comparing a Mustang to a Lexus then. 🤦‍♂️

Dude, its a direct - money - for - money - similar spec car. It is a perfectly good comparison.

Both have a V8

Both are RWD

Both have a Torsen diff

Both are a similar price

Both have 'sport suspension'

It is a direct comparison. Lexus doesn't just make beige cruisers for old farts to slowly wither away in

Everyone is gripping about the high pricing. Reality is that the price is reasonable as long as you do not go the high tech or performance route. If you want outrageous, look at pickups or large SUVs. What is worse is that no matter what you buy, you will probably have to buy three options you don't need/want to get one you do desire. For example, my F150 will probably be replaced in a couple years. Right now, I cannot get the towing drivetrain I like in a new F150, but it is available with the Ranger. Who knows what will actually be available in 3-4 years. The only certainty is that it will not be cheap.
