For all the bells and shiny door-to-glovebox digital screen(s), the new S650s are lacking a lot in terms of Creature Comfort Technology. Things that are missing:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Digital Screen Rear View Mirror/regular mirror combo (the old-fashioned dimming lever is used to change between the two on my Tahoe)
  • 360° view capability
    • Native supported front facing camera
    • Native supported side cameras
    • Only one rear view camera (two are required for the Digital Screen Rear View Mirror mentioned above)
  • HUD options
  • Electronically foldable mirrors
  • Headlight Dim-on-stop (admittedly, this isn't common in the US at all, but in Japan it's everywhere (and should be mandatory on SUVs))
  • Wireless Connected Car
  • Active drive surroundings monitoring (I've only seen this in Teslas, but it's darn impressive! Not only that, it could have a very real use for racing, drifting, or at the dragstrip)
I get it that not everyone wants or needs any or every one of these - but it's a brand new premium GT and it has half the features of my now 5 year old Tahoe.

Some of the things you mention are indeed available, but you don't get them on lower models. I suspect you Tahoe is not a basic model?
Tahoe is High Country - so yes, I get a lot of bells and whistles. And I'll straight up admit - going back to a real mirror instead of the digital mirror of the Tahoe is like looking through a dirty camera lens. This is a feature I truly never want to live without again. Been trying to find an aftermarket option for the mustang that replaces the stock mirror (not just covering it with an aftermarket screen) but have been unable to find anything.

By comparison to the Tahoe, the Mustang is also near the top of premium - Mustang GT Premium with PP and when I compared it to the Dark Horse, the 20 HP difference didn't warrant the $20k increase in price (round numbers for ease of discussion) that would have made it just about the same price as the Tahoe. The Dark Horse also didn't offer any additional technology that would be on my list above.
My mustang was north of $50k and I opted for just about all the upgrades that I wasn't going to change out myself (like no - I didn't buy Carbon Fiber wheels, I bought something aftermarket that I liked more at a lower price point). That's more than 2/3rds the price of the Tahoe when it was new (but in 2021 dollars- so not adjusted for inflation).
And I'm not asking Ford to give it away - I'm ready to pay for the upgrades. Nor am I asking Ford to invent something that doesn't already exist - they sell these upgrades or features in their many of their other vehicles, so it's really just a cross platform application.

So yah, I'm just whining. I admit it. But as one of those premium buyers, I love everything about the performance aspects of the vehicle; I just think they skimped a bit too much on the creature comforts.

Well buy a Tesla if you want all that crap as for dimming headlight I guess you will just have to go back to Japan. Look solved all your problems. Plus stop comparing a Mustang to a Tahoe your just being silly. My advice is that you go out and enjoy your Mustang to it's fullest and stop dreaming of what if's.

Damned if I would buy any car that I had this many complaints about. I don't need or want a lot of bells and whistles that any dealer can't repair. Ford knows what they're doing and the demographic that is likely to purchase a Mustang. Maybe you aren't in the demographic the Mustang was created for. I could have bought any competing car or any much more upscale car I wanted. I chose not to and I'm happy with my Mustang but for the annoying computer that won't leave me alone when I start it up to go someplace and it even feels compelled to make noise when I want out of it. Perhaps something else would be better for you....Suburban?

The funny thing is, the OP is complaining about the 7th gen Mustang not being premium enough, but he didn't buy the premium trim option that includes some of the things he's complaining are missing. Sounds like someone didnt do their research before buying (or posting). 😂

I'd also love to hear the rationalization for a 2-door sports car needing two rear cameras. 🤔

Am loving the car.

Only thing I miss is the front park sensors, am finding my back end is sticking out after parking, now n then.

Could do with bigger boot for my golf clubs & cooler phone charging.

The above isn't a complaint just something be nice. Think we all have something would like on it..

Easy fix, back in and use the reverse camera

You're welcome, 😁
