The picture below shows very well that the S550 look dated next to the S650.

New trendy headlights = dated? Not at all. They're not even laser, just same LED in different look. It just matches current style language, see lights of BMW or Audi or Bugatti Chiron... So yeah, it's copy-pasta.

Modern look sells so it doesn't matter if us S550 owners like it or not.

Keep in mind that 'Dated' is a personal perception. Don't confuse dated with better looking, they are not the same thing. To me, using these photos above, I'd rather 'date' the s550.

To me, the back of the S650 seems to suggest that the designer may have been into hallucinogenics. What I can’t really yet explain is how it got past the design table to the production floor.

Yea, I had barely watched the first 2, and I was forced to watch endgame. It sucks to see the end when you barely know the beginning.
