S650 Mid Cycle Refresh

All I ask for a refresh is an integrated digital dash cluster, single high-def infotainment screen with physical buttons, better looking front-end design, and reworked taillights. I’ll have an S650 in my garage, if Ford does this.

If the direction that the current-gen Expedition/Navigator and Nautilus took is anything to follow, the Mustang may just do that. It would be interesting to see how they do it.

I think they meant a single screen that isn't split with a bezel in the middle. What we have now is basically a dual-monitor setup.

Yes, that's what I meant too. A single screen that isn't split in the middle has been available since day 1 as part of the 400a and 401a packages.

I still don't think we're on the same page.

While the 400 and 401A are one unified unit, they behave as two separate screens. It's not one screen, it's two separate screens integrated into a single piece. This is why the gauge cluster can fail while the SYNC screen still works, and vice versa.

The only thing it's really doing is making a total failure of one or the other more expensive to repair, as the entire unit will need to be replaced.

Really? They’re not as sharp as the BMW screens or even the Cadillac screens.

Mid-cycle refreshes are always interesting to see. I'd guess some front end and rear end alterations. Maybe a new spoiler option, wheels, and a new package or two. Probably a couple creature comfort additions. Whatever they do though, by then it's probably going to be $60K for just a mid-range Mustang GT.

I hated to, but I sold my 2024 a few months back. I am now thinking abut another one, and am waiting to see if there will be a refresh in '27. If not, I am looking for a leftover 2024/25. Like you, I too, think refreshes are interesting to see.

Things I would like to see:

Convertible rear windows that always close the gap.
360 Copilot standard. (Such a great safety feature)
The Ford Factory EB Performance Tune Option
Revised phone charge pad that had a camera cutout for better flat contact.
Driver accessible gun safe for full sized handgun and a mag where the sunglass holder tray is.

Personally I’d love to see a Hybrid version of the GT- that high revving V8 with twin electric motors in the front giving it 750-850 HP and AWD.

but I know there are a ton of purists who frown on anything electric.

I agree 100%. I am a purist but having AWD would save me a ton of gas $ lol and great for Winnipeg winters but I can’t deny I prefer kicking out the rear and hearing that rumble.

I have had many AWD German cars that chew through snow but the pure handling and raw massive power are dwarfed by my 25 5 litre.
I was at a crossroads-I was either going to dump 10k into my 24 Golf R or go back to muscle. Glad I got rid of the R

My pipe dream is they bring back the glass roof option from the S197 era. That would get me in a refreshed S650

The power of the I6 is pretty substantial. 550hp/531tq it stout. That's like 110 lb/ft more than a DH.

Too bad it's an online 6. Id rather have a 400 hp hemi if I was buying.

Hey..at least they didn't use a turbo V6. Blech.

I have my doubts that the turbo inline 6 will go anyplace, sales-wise. It may have power but it has a turbo and it's a six cylinder. That, right there, means it isn't a muscle car to me, just a six cylinder that probably won't last long, if for no other reason than it's built by Stelantis. How's their record?
