It's not just ford, sounds like Subaru is killing the WRX to. I'm still not old enough for a vette and I can't grow a mullet so the camaro is out of question to. I guess I'll have to hold on to the stang!
The WRX is not dead. It's just not being sold in the UK anymore.

Well before I take a sky is falling attitude. I'll wait til I read this from a more reliable source. I'm old enough to remember the fox platform with its 14 year run. And how they almost switched the Mustang to front drive in 94.
You seem to be missing a decade from the 14 year run part!

The Fox 3 chassis underpinned what enthusiasts call the "Fox Body Mustang" from 1979 to 1993, that's true...

But the Fox 4 underpinned the SN95 and New Edges (Still chassis code SN95 on the Fox 4 platform) from 1994 to 2004. There is a reason the suspension crosses over.

For those pining over a new chassis, I too would like one, but the S197 chassis modified into the S550 chassis is still a great chassis, it just needs the pork cut out of it. Aluminum chassis would cut a decent chunk of weight out of the car and would be worth the investment in time and would keep the S550 around long enough to justify it's program expenses. I don't honestly think the performance issues from the new Mustang are related to anything but the weight of the car and Ford's decision to keep narrow (and staggered...) wheels and tires on the car and wrap it with some pretty terrible rubber. At least they seem to have sort of caught the hint with the PP2 on the 2018's but seriously needing to do this on the base GTPP too.

That's the current model I'm talking about the next gen.
There getting rid of the boxer engine and going to a hybrid. There CEO said we can't keep on making cars like this anymore. If that's not killing it what else would you call it?

Mustang almost became the Probe back in 88-89. :headbonk:

While I do not put a lot of faith in this article, the N/A 5.0 seems to be missing off the 2021 oil use chart that has been floating around that "confirmed" the 5.2 SC Predator.

Does not make much sense

Time will tell. Just read another article floating around yahoo news. That Ford is considering killing the focus here and moving focus production to China.

That was a 2020 and the 5.0 WAS listed on it.

At least we got the Focus RS, GT350, Raptor, and Ford GT. This may be the writing on the wall for the GT500 if the S650 is cancelled.

I sure hope we don't have to switch to a bowtie if we want an american performance car :headbonk:

"This is the second time in less than a decade that Ford has canceled a clean-sheet Mustang."

I'm not buying it and I fully expect a S650. :)

I'm not to worried that there won't be a next gen Mustang. I won't be surprised if we don't see a new gen til much later than 2021. With the way the S550 sells. Why risk a new model that might not be received as well. When the S550 still has plenty of meet. On the sales bone. I don't expect a new model til 2025ish.

Absolutely.......although Ford being Ford they will neither confirm nor deny :frusty:

All we can do is sit on the sidelines and hope for the best for our beloved Mustangs :)
