Great news! The reduced capacity amplifier that was previously a potential involuntary option is no longer an issue. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I really didn't want to lose power to my upgraded B&O sound system. Looks like now I won't have to!

I definitely didn't want a reduced capacity amplifier especially after ordering a convertible. Having worked in the car audio industry for 4 years I can tell you a couple things about factory amplified systems. They are very hard to upgrade with aftermarket equipment unless the only thing you want to do is add a subwoofer. They are also very expensive to upgrade unless the only thing you want to do is add a subwoofer with a lineout converter which is why I was laughing hysterically when Ford offered a whole $100 discount if you got stuck with the lower output amp. Improving a factory amplified system is usually a full gut job costing thousands where you then have to worry about installers breaking panel clips while also using unreliable t-taps or twist and tape methods instead of soldering.

Now, sources have explained to Ford Authority that the option is no longer part of production.

translation: they probably saw this post of mine in another thread about it, because call me crazy, but an article about this the day after my post when it's been in the order guide since May 2nd seems like some interesting timing
