I can't get over how refined the S650 magneride is compared to the S550 on a curvy backroad at speed. For people who aren't already in the advanced track group, a lot of the refinements are in areas you won't be able to fully appreciate, certainly not on a test drive.

But whether you like a car is entirely personal, and tied to expectations.

Personally, I think some of the disappointment is that the 2024 was built up so much by Ford and then it took forever to get one. It seemed like they dangled the "proverbial carrot" in front of our faces for months on end before releasing it. I came from a C7 Z06, so I knew it wasn't going as fast or handle as well. I'm older and was a little overwhelmed by the dash and all of the technology. I still am. I also had an issue with mine not starting with around 300 miles on the odometer, which resulted in it being at the dealer for a few days. That didn't help my initial impression. It's been fine since.

I've owned my Mustang for nearly a year now. It's very comfortable and much easier to get in and out of than my Corvettes. I love the A10. The sound from the 5.0 is amazing. Nothing like it. Again, I still find all of the gadgetry a bit overwhelming, but I'm sure the younger folks acclimate to it quite easily. After a couple of bumps in the road, I've grown to love driving it. It's certainly not a Corvette, but it was never intended to be. I get compliments on it almost every time I drive it, which puts a big smile on my face. It's a keeper. :like:

I agree with Devil Dog. I have owned a 1984 GT, an 01, an 08, an 09, and a 2020 BULLITT. In between I had a 08 Shelby GT500 and a 10 Shelby GT 500. All were manual shift cars. My 08 BULLITT was my favorite. My 2024 is a nice car, good ride and handling, great transmission (A-10), and quick. I'm not crazy about the dash. In my car it's very slow on start-up and IMHO a safety hazard. I absolutely hate the heater and A/C controls. They are too small on the screen and take too much time to adjust. I also hate the fact that there is no physical owner's manual with a $57K car, just a screen app. Yes, I know there's a PDF to print.
In all my new GT is a nice car and I'm satisfied with my purchase. Time will tell since I've had the car since 7/18/24.

I do... a little. Not enough to dwell on it too much, but still. My first was a 2007 in Windveil Blue with a silver gray interior, and I ordered it and waited months for it, but I got exactly the colors and options I wanted on it, and I absolutely LOVED it from the moment I started it up for the first time. I didn't do much to it, because it was perfect the way it was. Loved every drive in it for nearly 18 years, and almost didn't want to let it go.

This one... I waffled on the colors and options, and waited for the 2025s to be out to see if the colors were better. Colors were no better, and in fact a few were deleted, and the options I knew I wanted cost more on the 25s, so I searched nearby and found a 24 that had the options I wanted in a color combo I could live with. I guess it seems silly to quibble over the color, but I don't love it the way I loved my other one in Windveil Blue. I don't love the bright silver wheels. I pretty much hate that the entire interior is black (it's a PITA to keep clean looking, and it's hotter). Also... the old one was paid off for many years... so being back in a car payment, even though it's not huge, is probably a small part of the regret.

I do like the tech in the car, though more tech is also just more things to go wrong. Apple CarPlay refuses to play nice consistently, and seeing as how there's no other way to get music out of the thing, it's pretty annoying.

Still getting used to the handling since I've only had it a month, so that will probably become more fun in time. It's a huge leap from 300hp to 480hp, and it's honestly a bit daunting. I don't want to inadvertently do something really stupid with it, ya' know?

So far, it just doesn't feel like it's "mine," if that makes any sense at all. I will love it eventually... but maybe won't ever love this one like I did my first one.

But whether you like a car is entirely personal, and tied to expectations.
And this is so true. I wanted to love my new one as much as the old (even though I knew I might not when shopping for it), so I've tried to manage expectations. I'm probably not doing that too well!

Thanks for saying what I meant to say. I find myself taking my eyes off the road way more than I should when adjusting the controls, particularly the heat and AC controls. It just doesn't seem natural to me, but I'm in my mid 70's. I think the younger folks adapt to those things much faster.

If you are coming from a 2014 or older....I think the S650 is a big leap forward....but outside of the dash (which is a pro or con depending on opinion) I dont think its a big enough change to justify a change....which doesnt mean the S650 is bad...it just doesnt move the needle for me vs. the 550 .....

I look at it as the 69 vs the 70 Mustang or the 67 vs. the 68 - some definite tweaks but some people are going to prefer the 69 - some the 70 - but they are kind of the same car.....

Do you like analog gauges? Do you like screens? Do you like the lines of the S650 better? Do you like the lines of the S550 better? all personal opinion....its not like the jump from the A6 to the A10 from 17 to 18....

Not only do I have no regrets, I am so glad I decided to pull the trigger on a 24. Waiting would have been 10% more money and less options I want. Absolutely love the car!

if you don't like it, sell it. what other option do you have? keep driving something you don't like. life is too short.

No regrets here either. Previous mustangs were almost exclusively foxbodies, and a 2014 GT procharged.

10r80 whipple car is just a whole new animal. For my foxes to make 800wheel would easily 20maybe 30 or 40 grand into engine, blower kit etc..

The 24 is an EXCEPTIONAL value and a bargain from where I’m sitting.

I agree the value of 24 is great especially compare to the 25.

That's how I feel, just don't feel like mine. It takes years to tune and customize the car and tuning the 24 is out of the picture right now. It just doesn't feel like it's me. People used to look at my S550 and say that's so you.

I think you can actually buy the physical owners manual but that should came with the car.
