In the last 13 years, I have bought 5 new mustangs. I love the car.

My 2022 premium Eco was a custom order during the pandemic. Beautiful paint job - but - transmission stuck in 1st at 400 miles and then transmission was replaced at 1,400. Trunk carpet replaced, dash dented, seats faulty, and final straw was headliner separating. Ford bought it back before I sought attorney. Dealer deemed it a "pandemic" car.

I ordered a 2024 - waited a long time. I believe my car was built early and sat in a sea of ponys waiting for quality inspection. Had to be better than my 2022 - right?
My 2024 was in the shop 26 days in July and six times in the 10 months of ownership. My A/C went out - the dealer had problems acknowledging the codes and said nothing was wrong - it was 107 in my car. Phone wouldn't work due to heat of screen, charging pad, and dash. Then - the screen turned cloudy with white swirls.
You're probably bored so I will be fast - new 2024 Premium Eco with 4,000 miles - new windshield (4" of foam coming up from dash), new dash/whole electrical panel, A/C, trany assembly, and replaced the cigarette lighter. It wouldn't stay shut. After replacement, even techinician said it was worse! I also had the same issues with music and phone connections.

Ford deemed above a lemon. I just bought another - third times a charm, right? Love the new car but - the dash gets smoking hot - and the damn cigarette port will not stay shut. Please let me know if anyone is having this same issue.

Thanks for the read!

I'm ready to get flamed since this is a Ford Mustang forum after all, but I agree with you, the quality of these Mustangs is not there, and there have been various issues. For not even a total refresh but more of an S550 facelift, Ford ought to do better. Especially with these price increases...

Bought my GT in late April. Haven't had a lick of trouble 🤞with it so far (only got a little over 2800 mi on it).

Sorry you've had such a terrible streak of BAD luck! Hope the new one brings you thousands of trouble free miles and smiles!

Same as @Wiley Marmot. No issues with mine. Have had it 10 months, 1400 miles. All the updates have been received by my car to my knowledge. She was built in Oct 2023. Hate that you've had so many problems. Hopefully this new Mustang will treat you well.

I’m really hoping that someone on here knows the fix! I was happy - sounds bad - to see someone else had a no start issue - simple fix on an update - a new car shouldn’t have these problems.
And I still love my car!

@Rubyrane ..... so sorry to hear that. At least Ford has replaced two vehicles - I have never heard of that before. My 2024 GT Convertible was built in September 2023. I love it, it is IMO an amazing vehicle. There were some small QC issues such as there were two paint drips on the corners of the trunk that hit the rear facia when I closed the trunk. I sanded both down and touched them up. The convertible top snagged a piece of plastic in the boot and broke that. It was warranty. So I can not complain. I have about 7K on it now. When I look at that car I am absolutely amazed by the complexity of the build compared to my 2014 Convertible. Night and day difference regarding complexity. I have had small issues with every car I have ever purchased, which I realize is what happens on assembly lines with the vehicles particularly the new and very complex vehicles these days - but nothing like your issues. I wish the best for you and hope I haven't jinxed myself. Don't they say "Three's the charm"? Fingers crossed for you!

Personally, if I had that many problems I'd switch brands. My '24 wouldn't start after 300 miles and spent a few days at the dealership. They eventually replaced the "gateway module" whatever that is, and it's been fine since. It's funny that prices keep going up and quality keeps going down. I'm not sure what the solution is. Technology is a wonderful things, but in some cases it creates more problems than it's worth.

first post = low credibility. Sure you're not a jealous 24 Camaro owner? That's alot of problems for multiple cars. Maybe you just have bad luck with cars.
Just kidding (kind of)

18,000 miles. July 2023 build and likely one of the first 24 Ecoboosts on the road. Minor squeaks and rattles, but no other issues.

Sad to hear about all the troubles you've had. I took would have switched brands after all that.

Yes, had the gateway too early on. I’ve had so many loaners, really got to test the competition. In my opinion, the best driving car and oh so pretty! So trying one last time!

Bored?? No, color me captivated and thanks for sharing. I had a 2014 Mustang GT that did not have one single quality issue for the 10+ years I owned it, so I was hoping for similar quality with my new 2024. Now I'm worried, but I was already cautiously optimistic due to the level of technology in these newer rides. I cannot believe the number of issues you've had. Sorry if I say I really hope this is just a "you" jinx. I do hope you get it worked out. 2,000 miles on mine so far with no concerns like you shared.

I am glad we have warranty and Ford will repair any defects. However, leaving the car at the dealership for days or weeks is an issue because warranty does not cover a loaner or rental car. We are at the mercy of dealers who usually have nothing available.

Anyway, my only issues this first month of ownership is music stopping and center screen sometimes does not show Carplay in right part of screen. I am waiting for a future software update to resolve it.

Sorry to learn about your issues with your 2 Mustangs. I have been fortunate, and not had an issue with any of my previous Mustangs, a 2006 GT premium, 2015 GT premium, 2019 California Special GT premium, and my current Mustang a 2024 GT premium. I now have 9,200 miles on it.

My point is that in my opinion, Ford does make good cars, which are truly enjoyable to drive.

I hope you have many years of trouble-free enjoyment with your current new 2024 Ford Mustang.

@DevilDog ..... I had gateway modules on a big cruiser I owned a few years ago. They managed the flow of electronic data to the radar, GPS, engines, generator etc. Here's the IMO interesting point. The dealer had to replace them multiple times. I called the supplier and spoke with one of the executives. He was brutally honest. He said, ready for this, about 50% of this part fails but it's still cheaper to get them made in Indonesia than here in the U.S. My reply was, that may be ok for you but I have to live with the down time and my boat's manufacturer loses money paying a tech to R&R the parts! No wonder we're where we are! We have to bring manufacturing back to North America.
