The gloss over the whole hood does look great in that blue (is it Atlas or a custom blue?). I'm deciding whether to put matte PPF on the decals or leave them as is but ceramic coat them on mine.

a few people thought it was the pained stripe option i told them it was not as that goes to the roof and trunk

Work with your installer. Don't remove your decals like I did.

Why not? Any paint issues under the decals? Or you justes wanted to keep them after the ppf?

Im curious about the PPF protection. So after some searching it seems like its extremely expensive to install this stuff, to the point of thinking wouldn't it be around the same price to even repaint the car if the paint gets damaged rather then pay to install the PPF? And that would be an extreme example needing to completely repaint ect. Most of the time you would have to fix only the damaged area? Can someone that uses it explain how it works and how they like it ect? I've seen prices into 10k and even higher. Does the paint stay fresh underneath there for years? Also can you even leave it on for years? Maybe I'm just not understanding how it works ect. How long does it last? It does seem like people like it.

I had my entire car done. I love it. Not only does it protect your car it also make it super easy to clean. I have had waxed cars and ceramic coated cars. PPF makes it super easy to clean.

With my car being black was easy decision.

I have Xpel and it has a 10 year warranty.

Also if you repaint its hard to match the color. For the repaint instead of ppf argument. imo

I'm sure Ford uses a good quality stripe material. I have seen many after market stripes end up getting sun baked and end up like a road map.
I would want protection on the stripes and no cut into the paint. PPF has its limits as without proper care and expecting it to last 10 years is not the real world. It will last longer on cars kept inside with care.
Just beware when it comes time to replace it can be expensive to romove. I know from experience.

yes it is extremely expensive if you do the whole car. I went to a specialised company which has a long track record of ppfing high-end luxury cars and I knew I will get a quality job. Obviously I paid a premium.
but the whole point is to preserve the factory paint. as I understand it repainting is always an issue.
