PBD is a well known tuner and this is a good cost deal. You will notice the improvement on the road. A solid tune for entry level performance upgrade.

I contacted PBD and was told these numbers were from a stock Dark Horse.

I was also told with my H-Pipe and AWE Intake I should expect more.
I really like the torque numbers in the 4,000-5,000 range on the graph above.
I'll most likely get the tune.

414 sounds about right on for a stock Dark Horse. 420 or so, but this is a Mustang Dyno, not a Dynojet.

Add headers, get more.

Add intake (Cobra Jet with Boschma adapter plate), get more.

Add exhaust (get rid of of the stupid neck down to 2.25" at the resonator!), get more.

Add GSC R2 camshafts, get more.

Tune for E85, if you did all the other stuff, and Steeda got 576 at the wheels.

So, yeah, those numbers sound right. I should hope for the expense that a tune all alone at least picks up 20, 30 horsepower.

Stock Dark Horse is 500 horsepower. Drivetrain loss is not 20% (500 x .20 = 100, and 500-100 = 400). Maybe it makes more sense if I explain it that way?

And does everybody remember back in 2024 when all the wheel dynos were basically showing 420 whp?

And does everybody remember last summer/fall when the first tunes were coming out, and all of a sudden all of the wheel horsepower numbers before the tune were, oh, 390 whp? It was talked about here on the forum.

There is, of course, a difference in the horsepower the cars put out in the summer v. in the winter, cool air, hot air, etc., but many were accusing tuners of playing with the numbers to get a better result from the tune for marketing purposes.

Well, here is one that starts with a baseline at 414, not 390. Accordingly, this one is a much better representation of what you can expect from a tune on premium pump gasoline.
