Debating adding oil catch can system on my 2025 Ecoboost. Ford Performance has both passenger and driver side model that I may go with. Question, is it worth the addition/price for a basically daily driver with a few mods? i know this is an old subject but should have pros and cons from past installers....thanks ahead.

there are cheaper ones out there, personally anything you can do to keep oil out of the intake side of the engine is a good thing.

@brucemerc,
I just purchased a J&L for the passenger side. I dont think you need both sides. I think the PCV side is enough. There are a few options and going third party is less expensive as @Neggytive mentioned. In the long run I think it's a worthwhile low cost upgrade.

I had a J&L on a MY22 Ranger with a 2.3 EB and I have a J&L on a MY23 F150 PB. I noticed I capture much more gunk in the colder months. Just installed the FP on a MY25 Mustang GT. Only reason I went FP is I have not logical reason except I had more money than brains?

Appreciate all your responses. I noticed good reviews with the J&L for the ecoboost. Car has 4,000 miles on it, is it too late and also will adding catch can possible void extended warranty? Again, thank you for your response.

Use your ford points fro m purchasing the car to buy the ford pair. I only had to pay like 200 for the 500 set using mypoints

I will need to check on that. Also have the FP tune I would like to purchase when they finally release them for 2025.

I run UPR on my Mustang GT (dirty side only) and on my 25 F-150 Ecoboost (clean side and dirty side). For a boosted application I recommend running clean and dirty side catch can or at least a clean side separator with dirty side catch can. It will keep the oil mist out of your intake (including intercooler), off the turbo compressor blades, and off the intake valves. That clean side setup is extra important if you are in boost a lot. The PCV flow reverses under boost.

The systems being purchased do not have a one way check valve?
UPR is the only one AFAIK... though it can be added to any of them. I have UPR (w/ check valve) on the S650 and I have a JLT and added the UPR check valve on the S550.

What @Sofa King said. They do have one way check valves downstream of the catch can. I ordered the upgraded check valves on my F-150. None on the Mustang. It's dirty side only, though, and being NA flow is maintain in one direction so isn't really needed.
