I just brought my 9th mustang home friday. It is a 26 GT premium in Adriatic blue. I traded my 24 grabber blue base GT for it which I never thought I would get rid of that car. I agree with most of the above posters, it seems like a lot of money but I never regretted the 24 and I'm sure I won't regret this one. There is a world of good information on this site to guide you in buying things to do your mods. Welcome.
Can you post some pictures in the Adriatic Blue thread? Congratulations on your new car!

Greetings,

Just joined today and looking forward to learning and understanding the world of the Mustang. My whole life I have owned Corvettes, Camaros, and Buicks. I have always admired the Mustang since I drove my friend's 1965 Green Mustang GT coupe, at that time I owned a 1968 Buick Grand Sport 400 Stage 1, one of three released in 1968, it was dealer prep (built at Smyly Buick Malden, Ma). It was much different then my GS, certainly not as fast and so much lighter, and harder to handle. I also restored a 1963 Corvette Split Window and won all chapters and National NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold Awards, soon after sold it as it was a piece of furniture. I owned total of 6 Corvettes, and have to say my favorite was my C7 Vert, that was sold of few years ago. I do NOT like the new C8 Corvette, as I think they are way too expensive, and going mid-engine (my opinion) broke the tradition of Corvette, and took on an Italian Sports Car performance. So this lead me to look more and more into the Ford Mustang, and am here to hope to learn more and more about the culture, car and performance. Attached I loaded some photos of my cars of the past. Looking forward to learning and listening.

Hey Old Coastie, fellow Naval Service Member. Welcome from an Old Jarhead. I agree with you about Corvettes going too Italian (and I'm a 'Greaseball' myself), they just kind of lost that American in Your Face mystique and brute force power they always represented. Enjoy that Mustang V8 rumble. Good Luck! "Semper Fi" and "Semper Paratus".

Welcome! Hope you do get one and enjoy it. 2024 GT PP Shadow Black here and I freaking love it. I smile everytime I remote start this baby! I love walking up to it at the gym after my workout and hitting the remote rev on the keyfob. People start looking like wth.... Then I hit it again.
Anyway, I happen to love mine and plan on keeping it, no matter what it's worth on paper. It's worth more to me anyways. Just the smile, I get climbing in.

By the way, I too love Corvettes. the '63 is freaking awesome and you did a masterful job on it. I agree on the new iteration, it looks way to European at this point. Also, agree that the mid-engine has kind of blown it for me as well.

Best of luck in your decision.
Thank you the 63 went through a 7 year off frame restoration, very few repro parts, I used original reconditioned, original, and NOS. Very few people know there are 261 parts on the 63 that are only one year parts. By 64 many parts were eliminated or redesigned, making the 63 one of the hardest to restore,. Loved it, but drove like a truck. Peter Brock told me one of the best restorations he ever saw and it was flawless, that meant alot coming from Peter. Ran it on the track at Summit Point, and it ran exactly like the drivers said, had to downshift to third and drift into the curves. But had to let it go as it just sat in the garage and gathered dust. No regrets, I miss it, but life goes on. Now looking to buy and enjoying the Mustang.

Welcome! I'm also new to this forum and to Mustangs: I have my 2026 ordered from the factory. Originally I really wanted a C8 (I just love the looks of the car), but with 3 children my family's second car needed to be practical (as in, back seat). That didn't leave me with a lot of options since most muscle cars are now gone from the market.

However, the Mustang won me over with the looks, and the Coyote V8. I've learned a lot from this forum, and I can't wait to get my Mustang. Sure, it might not be the 'best' investment but I'll be driving this car for 5-10 years and figure out what's next afterwards.

On a side note, I would have bought a Dark Horse if not for the fact that:
- I don't want a black interior: might just be me, but just no
- I don't like the front of the DH with the black accents

Hopefully you'll enjoy this community and whatever Mustang you decide to purchase!
I will pass on the Dark Horse option too, as I am buying a vert, and several of the options for th vert are deleted on the DH option, so not worth it. Like the GT a lot, but being former Vette owner, really do not want to pay for High Grade gas, as my racing days are gone, and grand touring is my future interest. Vettes are great especially the C7, the best ever built, but the price for a vert is through the roof just to take the roof off, not worth it, as you drive a C8 off the lot and you lose 30 percent of the value. I never invested in cars I bought to enjoy and love them, invest in gold and silver not something with wheels. I hope to learn a lot about the Mustang and especially which dealerships to avoid and which one you can deal with. Going for the Grabber Blue with grey interior, and will put dual Cobra stripes (Silver) on the top exterior. Had MANY Corvettes and Cameros with 500 plus horsepower, down with that, going for cruising and enjoying. Let me know when you get your Stang.

Welcome. Power to ya on the 'vettes. I don't care for them any longer and the Z06 I owned was a POS from a quality perspective, just like some people here say here about their Mustangs. They're good cars IMO.

Anyone that buys any new car as an investment isn't thinking either. Get your car and enjoy it. It's a great car and no car is perfect you'll find out here but you know that. You'll have a hard time wiping that smile off your face as you do a hard pass on another car on the highway ; ).

I have own some great Corvettes and Camaros in the past, I actually did own a 1969 Yenko Camaro, Hugger Orange, black interior and never had a problem. My C7 was the best Corvette I ever owned. So now I will try the Mustang, and very much looking forward to join the rank and file of Stang owners. Corvettes are way out of my price range and I am retired and on fixed income, so that part of my life is over. Very excited and will order late next summer. Sorry you had bad luck with Vetts, but to each his/her own. Cheers

Served total of 5 years, station on Ship out of Boston, did patrols in the North Atlantic, then last year station at Boston Harbor Group (small boats, search and rescue), I was a Radioman and Electronics Rating. USCG often called the texi cab service for the Marines, as we drop you off and pick you up, Navy too big to run the small boats. Worked with many Marine Units in Vietnam

During WWII my uncle was Coast Guard and served aboard a sub-chaser in the North Atlantic on convoy escort. They were torpedoed; he survived and made it home. That's what I call Badass. In Country I was an artillery FO / radio operator 11th Marines attached to 5th Marines in the bush. Hard to believe how long ago it was. Have attached photos of my current toys. You're gonna love tooling around in your Mustang. Enjoy!!

I am sure you Uncle has (had) many stories about being a Coastie. Few people know the Coast Guard has been in EVERY war since 1790 and played an important role. TRIVIA when they raised the first flag on Iwa Jima it was a very small flag, A Marine Commander asked them to do the raising one more time, but use a larger Flag to be seen all over the island. It was a Coastie who provided the flag used for the most famous second raising of the flag and the one with the Iconic Photograph. Came from a Coast Guard Cutter. Great cars, and hoping to post one next year and enjoy it....Semper Paratus.
