Beautiful. I hope it looks this good. I bet it won't. It's going to be more different from the S550. Edgier with more defined side scoops. A New Edge S550. And I won't like it much.
I hope Car and Driver (same publisher) pictures are right. Saw those before this and was happy to see the abominable S-curves gone from the hood in the C&D pics.
I think you should have inserted "current" before the "Mustang".Wow, that looks just like a mustang.
And we will be "Happy" with the "Increased Hp", as it is for our own "good" - The real world Dystopian (Socialist) Orwellian Nightmare"Ford has increased v8 engine output in the new Mustang to 430HP"
Winston Smith would be proud.
I strongly suspect the changing auto landscape is calling investment dollars elsewhere unfortunately. The render really does look like a refreshed 2015 and current Mach 1 combined.
Not digging that at all.
not truly a new platform, so the bones are the same. Hopefully they have time to change up the sheet metal and TRY to look diffeeent enough to call it a 650.
I mean, come on. This is THE American car. Give it it’s due. Invest in it. It’s shameful that the “new” platform is a warmed over fox multiple times over.
if the dead 6th gen Camaro SS or SS 1le outhandles or outruns the new GT, that’s just wrong.
only when those changing the landscape cause that to happen. Especially considering that’s the line we’ve been fed since the Fox-4, always with a promise that a true all-in new platform was forthcoming - only to never happen. And now we get the lie againI strongly suspect the changing auto landscape is calling investment dollars elsewhere unfortunately.
And, unfortunately, the changes in the worlds landscape means that this will never happen. At least with a V8 RWD 2 door coupe. We’ve had a great run at 60+ years but it’s coming to an end. Sad, but true.only when those changing the landscape cause that to happen. Especially considering that’s the line we’ve been fed since the Fox-4, always with a promise that a true all-in new platform was forthcoming - only to never happen. And now we get the lie again
customers aren’t asking for an aging platform under their new mustang. It’s forced on them.
customers are also not asking for the v8 to sit on its behind while eco boost 4 and 6 cylinders get invested in and electric gets a ton of R&D.
ford has more than saved money in that time. Now is the time to invest and reap the rewards over time.
the Mustang (and it’s customers) deserve an actual NEW, highly engineered and capable platform. We’ve been milked enough for the past 20 years.
When referring to what customers are asking for, you have to remember that Ford's customers are for all of their vehicles, not exclusively Mustangs, so the reality is that most of their customers are, in fact, asking for those things. They vote with their dollars, and are buying vehicles other than Mustangs for the most part. Given that, Ford has focused their development on what sells more vehicles overall and what makes them the most money. That means the Mustang will not get as much of an investment.only when those changing the landscape cause that to happen. Reality Man, Reality…sadly. When referring to what customers are asking for, you have to remember that Ford's customers are for all of their vehicles, not exclusively Mustangs, so the reality is that most of their customers are, in fact, asking for those things. That can certainly be disappointing for Mustang fans, but it works better for Ford as a company than spending a ton of money developing a platform that would never sell enough to recoup the investment.
