this seems to have gone under the radar, but Ford massively improved the GTD page on their site sometime recently.
https://www.ford.com/performance/mustang-gtd

here is what i have managed to find there plus the ford media site
- top speed of 190mph or more
S650 Mustang New Mustang GTD Info from Ford 1722570043834-9j

- 7550RPM redline
- what looks like a variable traction control system with 5 or 6 levels
- vacuum in millimeters of mercury instead of inches for some reason?
S650 Mustang New Mustang GTD Info from Ford 1722570923415-ph

- "favorite" button replaced by an axle lift button that has a unique Mustang graphic
- blank/auto start stop button replaced with some sort of race mode button
- will be the only 2025 Mustang with a wireless charger
S650 Mustang New Mustang GTD Info from Ford 1722570979673-tf

- "Performance View" cluster theme(?) taken verbatim from the Raptor trucks
- a notable lack of icons for exhaust mode, steering feel, and suspension mode (in some pictures, this may be an error)
S650 Mustang New Mustang GTD Info from Ford 1722571143969-7y

- unique startup and farewell animations
- MyMustang menu model changed to a GTD
- fuel gauge looks to always read in percentage
S650 Mustang New Mustang GTD Info from Ford 1722571445648-y5

- red drive mode buttons
- new icon for whether or not DRS is on
- TPMS picture is a GTD, but still no tire temps
- despite the carbon fiber and titanium everywhere, the center stack may still be the fake carbon plastic version
- no adaptive cruise control
- exhaust mode button in place of the speed limiter button
- suspension mode button in place of the follow distance button
- no chassis badge on the passenger side of the dash
- the B-Roll found here shows that the drive mode animations were even changed, and also shows the welcome and farewell GTD screens

Imagine spending +$300k on a very exclusive car only to get a slightly updated interior of a $30k Ford...

I can't wrap my head around this ... The upcoming C8 ZR1 has more power, a much better interior and will most likely cost less than $200k... Besides, it can be bought by literally everyone (if you have the money and can wait until ADMs are gone).

The GTD looks very good but other than that it's a miss in terms of 'how to build a halo car'.

Still wouldnā€™t mind (actually prefer) having the animiated render match the ā€˜actualā€™ car color and stripes, etc. as in redcar with stripes the startup and mode animation should show the same, not some other gents/gentettes car.

I don't get this at all for the Mustang. Applying another paint color to the 3d model should be really easy task since it's running in UE5. And they couldn't even add an Ecoboost or DH Model, always the grey GT with the spoiler. It's such a small effort for a big effect.

Because it doesn't work very well, especially since everybody puts a phone case on their phone ... then cries because their phone won't charge wirelessly ...

No phone case for me and the phone usually has less charge after a long trip than when I first put it on the charger. On the plus side, the phone is nice and tasty when I put it in my pocket. Ford electronics in general suck. I don't care for Red Bull F1, but I hope the Ford guys doing the electronics for their cars in 2026 are contractors, not employees.

People buy cars and race cars with nothing in them for far more than 300k. The GTD is a race car more that a street car so that's the reason. Not really a car to drive on the street much. But I agree they could have added and done more. It will be interesting to see how Ford responds to the zr1. They have to match it and improve the interior and increase power if they are going to offer something to go against the vett. Especially knowing it has one more variant left to release with probably 1200 hp and 1000 tq to an AWD car.

Ford has never really considered the Corvette a competitor for the Mustang. They have not, in the past responded to the Vetteā€™s top offering. They wonā€™t this time either. The GTD is a one off special not a regular line model. Ford has nothing in the pipeline that could even come close to the ZR1. Do not hold your breath waiting for one.

I've had my car for almost a year and haven't used the charger yet. Actually, I haven't used the radio much either. The GT sounds so good I just enjoy having the windows down and listening to the exhaust. :like:
