So I’m changing my spoiler, and have the module off. I’ve got all the residue off of everything else, but the tape on the inside of the module seems absolutely impossible to get off. Is there and trick to this or just a lot of patience? I see this taking me hours.

Can you get an eraser wheel in there?

If you don’t have an eraser wheel, try a hair dryer on it and just keep rubbing it off. Your thumbs will hurt when you are done though.

Goo Gone helps too.

Don’t have an eraser wheel, I have rubbing alcohol and just went and grabbed a plastic razor blade so hoping that will help! My thumbs are already killing me lol

Try heat. Either way…you’re going to be there a while.

I didn’t remove the module because the new spoiler just tapes on. I lifted the old spoiler too hard and popped that module tape and couldn’t get it back down. Now the module edge sits high off the trunk on one side…crap.

The new spoiler you have is going to be worth all the trouble!

Guys I’m actually so stupid. The YouTube video I watched was a different spoiler lmao, I got mine from ford performance and didn’t even have to take the module off it seems. Just did a whole lot of unnecessary work, and the spoiler alignment is slightly off by the smallest amount and I think my ocd is gonna make me take it off and put it back on in the future.

what a dumb day, just spent hours getting adhesive off for no reason 🙃 got it on tho!

Yeah some spoilers require the module to be removed for reasons I don’t know offhand.

Welcome to the world of making things harder than they had to…lol. I know it well.

I have a PP GT and I replaced the spoiler with the Ford Performance Dark horse spoiler. I’m not sure how you can install it without removing that module.

That said, an eraser wheel and 3M adhesive remover are your best friends for this job. I would also used some 3M adhesion promoter for installing the new tape.

what step would include removing it? When I got it back together I realized I could just drop it in the precut holes and bolt in the sides, unless I completely missed a step?
