So first quarter sales down 6.8 percent…

Come on people buy more Mustangs! Let’s not give Ford an excuse to kill or EV our car!

I'd assume there was a big spike in the last few days of Q1'23...

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/24/ford-f-earnings-q1-2024.html

Ford reported earnings yesterday, with the highlights in the article above.

Some excerpts:

"Ford’s traditional business, known as Ford Blue, reported adjusted earnings that were down 66% compared to a year earlier to $905 million."

"The notable decline in Ford Blue was related to the launch of the company’s refreshed F-150 pickup, which it held shipments of during most of the quarter to address undisclosed quality issues."

"Ford CEO Jim Farley said the company avoided “about 12 recalls” thanks to the additional quality checks during the stop-shipment, helping to lower warranty costs for the company."

“What we’re going to see long-term is less recalls and lower warranty costs because of this new process,” Farley said Wednesday during the company’s first-quarter earnings call.

"The company last year said it has a $7 billion to $8 billion annual disadvantage compared to traditional rivals due to production costs, quality issues and other operational inefficiencies."

Like the S650, Ford is recognizing and correcting problems before shipment. Is this process's ultimate goal stopping and fixing the poor product at the factory, :facepalm:or striving towards preventing the poor product from being produced in the first place? :idea:I'd like to think they're working towards the latter.:please:

Agreed. Find fix and remedy at the source. its a waste of time, money, and resources to keep doing the same thing over again.

when: ‘there’s never time to do it right but always time to do it over again’ you’ve stepped into the land of mediocrity.

Hard to believe the model didn't outsell last years.

Is there a breakdown for Gen 6 & 7 sales during Q1'23 though ? as the gen 7 was on sale by then
sold = delivered.....there were no gen 7 deliveries in Q1 2023 so 2023 numbers are pure S550

However.... Q1 2024....there could have been a few S550 sales in those numbers

It does not look too good for Ford with all the recall$$$ , lots of unsold 2023 F150 and no interest in EVs and same 10 year old all new gen 7 Mustang as sales/profits are down only saved by fleet sales that were up…Of course raising the prices as Ford and greedy dealerships did did not maker things easier despite having the cake all for themselves I mean Camaro , Challenger and basically Corvette gone as the affordable working class sportscar with a manual…Maybe they should have invested a little more money upfront on new product and Quality instead of playing it “safe”…Time will tell but I really hope Mustang wont follow the path of Camaro and Challenger for people who prefer V8 and manual over soulless EVs or boring SUVs or auto only gas guzzling and unaffordable pickups unless you talk about the Maverick…🤣

Every post you have is negative. Every single one. You own and love Challengers. Why don't you just go to a Challenger forum? The users here enjoy Mustangs and learning about their cars etc.

Nobody knows why he came here in the first place nor why he's still here. Other than to spout pointless drivel about his 30yr old car design and how ford should bring back an engine that nobody else wants.

Posting facts is not negative at all as they had an article on car & driver that Ford made 1400 bucks on each car sold in the blue oval ICE side but each EV sold contributed to a $130000 loss…As far as Camaros and Challengers they are gone and I hope the Mustang stays therefore I hope Ford makes it more attractive to generate more sales especially what they charge for it and lighten the weight , up the displacement to give it more Torque and solve the quality and reliability issues ! And having all these unsold ‘23 F150s while they are getting ready to ship all the ‘24 F150s held back to avoid 6-12 recall issues to say it with the bosses words wont make matters any better…At least not for the company but maybe the customer if you are in the market for last years new F150…
