Has anyone tried the new Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires on their S650 Mustang?

I just picked up my 2025 GT Premium and ordered a set to replace the OEM Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric A/S in 265/35R20. Where I live, we can run summer performance tires year-round.

Curious what you think of the performance of the PS S5 compared to the 4S and other favored tires. Thanks!

Thanks! I've read all the Tire Rack reviews and watched the relevant YouTube videos. Just wondering whether anyone here has actual street experience with the PS S5 tires on their Mustang?

Here's what AI advised me about the Michelin PS 4S v. the PS S5:

On a Mustang GT Premium (like yours):

  • Choose the PS4S if you want a more balanced, refined tire for daily driving, long trips, and wet weather confidence with high-performance edge.
  • Choose the PSS5 if you’re focused on ultimate grip, sharper steering, and cornering precision, and don’t mind slightly shorter tread life or a firmer ride.

I saw TireRacks comparison a year ago that had the PS4 and went with the ExtremeContact Sport02.

I love them. Great traction and quiet(ish) ride for what I'm looking for.

s5 is not widely available its oem only pretty much right now
i also want to try them as getting grip with a whipple on the street is not easy with tires that can also handle
the trofeo rs is terrible at normal street temps if you really heat them up then they are actually pretty good but its hard to get them up to temp on the street.
