DON'T be this guy!

On 6/2/24; 32 year old Ben Futerman of New Jersey was racing his BMW against a Mustang at approximately 0100 (1 AM) hours when he lost control at about 110-115 MPH. The resulting crash killed Kristina Godich (Futerman's wife) and seriously injured Futerman sending him to a local hospital for several days. The Mustang also crashed (the linked article doesn't mention whether the vehicles crashed separately or into each other) injuring the driver and 2 passengers.

Mr. Futerman has been charged with Aggravated Manslaughter and Vehicular Homicide.

Take that $h1t to the track and stop street racing! There's grudge racing night at the track for a reason.

event data recorders give the PoPo all the information they need to hang you

If you have ever seen a forensic investigation of a EDR it is amazing how much data is stored in there

This ⬆

I suspect both drivers will spend a not insignificant amount of time in jail.

I fully expect there to be lawsuits against both drivers by ALL the families of the victim/patients.

This happens a fair bit here where I live and so OPP and Regional Police services are really cracking down. One of my friends, a cop, has actually told people "Look, you are gonna do this whether I tell you to or not, so you and that other person go out to some abandoned road with nobody else in the cars, sign a waiver for each other and have at it".

Privately he's also told me "We'll see if Darwin was right".

They closed race way park sadly, otherwise they could have. Shame about the wife btw, what a pretty woman, shame she died

I think the only race track left in Jeresy is all the way towards PA

Sad that so many tracks have closed down. Still, shouldn't street race. I guess if you gotta race go find a quiet remote straight road in the country and let her rip. And leave the Mrs at home or somewhere she can't get hurt. So sad.

1000%

just as a byproduct of Karen’s and Ken’s shutting down nearby tracks, this happens

i am not condoning street racing, but i will say that people should expect a steady rise in the amount of street racing the more tracks are closed. here in AZ, Arizona Motorsports Park is being shut down sometime very soon. its gonna displace autocross and some track driving, as well as remove one of DPS' training grounds. Wild Horse Pass nearly got shut down too, but i think someone bought and saved it.

regular people seem to often forget that those who love what they drive also love to see how their vehicles perform, regardless of whether or not it is a closed and sanctioned event. if they cant do it on the track, and they cant do it on the drag strip, then they'll do it on the road
