Least Expensive Performance Upgrades?

I recently acquired a stock 2025 GT Premium with active valve exhaust and 20-inch wheels. What are the least expensive mods that will give me the greatest performance boost for the least cost? And without voiding the vehicle's warranty?

I assume the answer to this question would involve some sort of tuning. But I'm not familiar with that world...

Good point! I've also replaced the OEM all-season tires on the vehicle with max performance summer tires (Michelin Pilot Sport S 5), which should also make quite a difference.

Honestly, not much.

Headers are $$$

Tune is $$ and will get you like 15hp on 93. Would be a decent gain on e85 though.

Lighter wheels (say 20lbs each wheel) and carbon fiber/aluminum driveshaft are $$

Nothing really to be had with the airbox or throttle bodies

You could have the intake manifold ported but that actually might not even do anything

if you want a project and can weld (or have a buddy that can), you could cut your cats out.

headers are honestly not even worth it. so much money on them plus install for minimal gains. in fact, i would say that Ford has gotten the Mustang to the point where diminishing returns is getting very aggressive. there's only so much power you can get out of a naturally aspirated 5032cc DOHC V8. headers don't do much, cams don't do much, tune doesn't do much, exhaust does next to nothing. maybe if you do all that you can pick up 40 to 60hp (my estimate based on what i've read, not the ground truth!), but that's gonna set you back a lot of money, probably $10,000 is my estimate. or for a similar amount of money you can get the Whipple supercharger and instead of getting to 550hp, you get to either 815hp or 875hp, depending on which stage kit you get

Since you haven't had your Mustang long, you might consider just taking it somewhere and running the hell out of it, stock. There is enough HP in it to do a lot. Get in a safe place and put it "on the edge", get some adreneline going and see what you think. I've done that and it has enough HP for me to be a lot of fun, or get one in trouble. But, we're all different.

Speed and power can be a relative thing. I've been there, done that with sport bikes and a car on tracks and what I have is plenty on a public road. Finished racing and tracking vehicles. It's a money dump at this point for me.

Ford performance 93 tune if warranty is really an issue. $600 for 20 hp. Close to same $$ you get 40 to 50 hp with an e85 tune from lund or other reputable tuner. I'd go e85 and have a flex tune ready to load if you go back to 93 octane. Even the flex tune will outgain the FP tune and will adjust to mixed gas like e85 mixed with 91 or 93.

Longtube headers with hi flow cats.

Anything that descreases weight or increases grip:

Stickier tires
Lighter wheels
Gut the trunk
Rear sear delete. This adds up if you remove everything like the rear seat belts. A no brainer if you don't use it.
Remove rear wing or just the gurney flap if equipped.
Adjustable camber set up if not equipped. Will corner better if handling is the thing. It will eat tires faster while daily driving though.
Don't add weight - silly wings, heavier tires, etc.

Well putting in high flow filters and pulling the carbon traps is cheap and easy. But you will probably only get 2-3 HP. Lol

Honestly these aren't like the previous generations where a CAI, tune, and exhaust would get you 30 HP. These S650 are tuned pretty well from the factory as-is. I second @Frogdog1 , go let her rip and enjoy it stock.

It depends on what you want to accomplish. Drag racing, road racing, and street performance are different animals. Steeda and others are working on tune kits for the 7th gen Mustangs. Do some research and allocate your funds accordingly.

Seriously 1. Headers, 2. Whipple.

Those are the cheapest upgrades that you will actually feel some gains.

Air filters and pulling the carbon traps followed by an H-pipe to delete the resonator.
If you are drag racing a set of drag radials.

Longtube headers, custom tune and E85 are a great combo which won't break the bank. Doing the headers now also sets you up for success later on down the road when you go with a blower.
