You are still talking about the protection for the pinch welds (and no issues there), but my question was where to place the jack and the floor stands?
right behind the front wheel there is a cut out in the side skirt for a jackstand on the pinch weld
and in the read its just infront of the wheel

I need to jack up the rear. I found the arrow with the cutout but I can only fit the jack or the stand. Not both.

idk only lifted the car once without jacking rails but the car was so stiff the whole side was jacked up by doing it in one spot the whole side lifted up so i could get the jack stands under easy

I jacked ours up from the differential. I've always used the diff on my RWD cars, never had a problem the past 30 years or so.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I need to jack up the rear off the car (DH) to work on some LED lights. I'm seeing the cut outs with the arrows. No problem jacking up the car there. But where to place the floor stands? It doesn't fit next to jack. From what I gathered is to jack up the car near this area (preferably using Rubber Slotted Frame Rail Protectors) and then place the floor stand where the 'arrow' is - the jack point). Or do I need to do the opposite: use the jack point for the actually jacking up off the car, and then place the floor stand with the protectors near this?

I considered jacking rails but I haven't seen any that fit the DH without any sort of modification. Also, I am probably done jacking the car after this maintenance so the rails will be one-time use.
The rails option for the '26 is no good unless you want to cut / trim your undercover. Me, no thanks. Rear end work. I use my ramps. They are standard with an 8in lift. I just back the car right up on them. Are you looking for a solution so you can take off the rear wheels too? I'm going to use jack pads and floor jacks for this. My EOS rock guards came it and I think the rear tires have to come of for easy install. The fronts look easy without wheel removal.

I just bought a 16 qt drain pan as the one I've had for the past 20 years is only 8. Giving it to my neighbor.

To use the ramps on the front, you have to use homemade 2x10 risers screwed/stacked so the front lip clears. This works for oil changes. Race ramps are ridiculously overpriced.

Based on what I've seen, jacks with stands are the only good way to get the wheels off without a quick jack or lift.

I've also jacked up my vehicles using the rear diff. You can back the car up on ramps and use a jack with a hockey puck. Plenty of room so your jack handle doesn't bounce on the bumper and then you can just let it down on jack stands after moving your ramps out of the way. Wheel chocks for the front wheels is recommended and of course I'd break the lugs loose before jacking it up.

I've been using ramps for the last 20 years on my Subarus, but the front of the Mustang is much lower. The number of screws and pop-its on the undercover is also way over engineered 😂 putting it nicely. The SVE bolt-on jackpads are also attractive, but I don't think I'd get enough clearance due to the arc of my driveway. My house is like 61 years old and it's that close. I just hit 1K miles so oil is getting changed one way or the other.

I tried that, and the jack slipped. Not good.

Yes, when you use this method you have to be really careful to make sure that you're not going to get any diagonal force when you lift so the jack doesn't roll. The last thing you want is for your car to come down with a steel rod up its @$$.

Jack the car up where the cradle bolts are on the rear suspension arms, then set the car down on the jack points ones side at a time.
I’ve done this multiple times without issue.
The front is trickier with all the plastic and air fins.
I have race ramps for front and rear work that doesn’t require tire removal.

This is what happened to me last week with my jack under the differential. Car slipped, diff cooler line snapped, cover might need to be replaced. Currently at the Ford dealer, will prob be over $1k to fix.

Will never use the differential ever again to jack, and I will caution anyone to use this spot.

Going to stick with the pinch welds to install my rear LEDs and call it a day with jacking up my car.

Was a bit hesitant to share this since I got ridiculed on a FB forum but I figured people are a bit more mature and nicer here.

This all sucks.

It happens bud. We’ve all goofed something up at one time or another. Thankfully it’s something repairable on the car and not an injury.
yeah, and as my wife said: at least I wasn’t under the car 😝

but you can understand I am careful…
