It is one of my big gripes when I am doing tires at the shop, not only to they weld themselves on , even if you get them off sometimes it fuses the core into the stem so you can't get it out.

Hard to break or set a bead with the core still in the stem

Though I have had aluminum caps for over a year on my wife’s Lincoln and they come off easy….so far. I may have to rethink them.
