It’s been a while since other drivers throw compliments to us on our car…..kinda’ nice, you know?

it’s been over 3 years driving a rather plain looking SUV and small trucklet (Palisade and a Santa Cruz) since we last owned a Mustang GT, so it still surprises me a bit to have other drivers or their passengers roll down their windows to shout compliments at us in traffic on a 95 degree day at stop lights, or even while moving in town. Gives me a chuckle to have this happen to a white Mustang………maybe it’s the loud exhaust that gets their attention first?…………lol………..

Not really. I drive a 2024 Eco-Boost Premium in Oxford white, and I've gotten several compliments. I will admit, however, I haven't had anyone roll down a window to shout a compliment, save for a thumb up a couple of times. Perhaps it is a bit of jealousy of not owning one themselves.

I don't give a damn about others giving compliments on my car. It's not that I made the car myself. I just used money to have it.

So I always find it strange to say "thanks" to people who compliment the car. I'm just the owner, not the maker.

Wow, kinda’ negative, you know? You did CHOSE your car, color, engine, options, etc, so perhaps they are complimenting you on your good taste, not ability to create the car in the first place?

It's not negative at all. I'm getting compliments for work that other did just sound crazy.

It's different if you buy and choose interior objects that you haven't made yourself, but placing them in a way that makes your house look good. If people compliment me for that, I will gladly see that as a compliment because I made the house look the way I placed all those stuff.

But taking compliments on a car that I haven't made just sound crazy to my ears.

I say thanks if they complement what i did with the base pallette much like your interior decoration reference. IE they know its not stock and apreciate the visual modification to the car. Now what fords designers or plant workers did.

So then, you let your Mustang get really dirty, never wax it to shine it up really nice, so that it appears uncompliment worthy?

I don't get this question at all.

Since you are the one who doesn't get complimented, this weird theory applies to you then.

Well, now we know why people don't compliment your Ecoboost. Wash it!

I've received more compliments on my GT than all my other cars put together. Usually it's something to the effect of "Great/beautiful looking car/Mustang/GT."

They're right. It is.

They're not commenting on who designed/built/painted it, just that they admire it's appearance, and in deference to my exquisite 🤔 automotive style and sensibilities; I did select to the spoilers, badges and wheels and tires . 😉 Really only common courtesy to say thanks.

I never said anything about not saying thanks. I just shared how my brain reacts to compliments like these that doesn't make sense to me.

I do understand that people admire the Mustang just like me, but complimenting me for it just sound weird. We just share the same taste, that's it.

Mercedes and BMWs everywhere, but I do get the thumbs up. 👍😁

I didn't bought the car because of that, my daughter have chosen the color.
I didn't expected that.

Makes me confident to show off a bit with the sound. 😎😂

Compliments, deserved or not, just make us feel good. So does a thank you in return.
We were sitting outside a cafe in Rome one evening and this quite spectacular middle aged Roman woman, dressed to the nines, walking past said "che bellissima" while looking at us. I knew for sure it wasn't me, but we looked puzzled, so she said "the lady she is beautiful" and that made Tracey's night.
Just some simple words.

The firing order of the Ford 5.0 is so unique, it truly is a special sound all its own compared to the other brands of V8’s…….

When I first got my Shadow Black Dark Horse with Handling package. I was out for a drive and came up beside a Mach E when the girl in the passenger seat started to give thumbs up and how great my car looked it was funny because the guy driving it didn't look happy lol.
