I'm going to get a Viofo A329S dashcam shipped very soon, so I'm looking for the right spot to place this. When I was inspecting the windshield, I saw this kind of sensor or camera looking thing behind my rear view mirror and I was wondering what this is.

It can't be the sensor that tells you that you need to take a rest from driving right? I think that pops up based on a timer or something. I don't even know if US caes have the same pop up or not, but the European Mustangs do get this pop up.

I know there are cars who have like a camera or some sort that scans your face and tells you that you are tired. I don't think our Mustang has this kind of crap. The sensor or camera is behind the rear view mirror so It can't even scan your face or see you.

So that leaves the other option open, which could be the interior motion sensor? If so, than I shouldn't place my dashcam right below it I gues..

I tried testing the alarm with the windows open and stuck my hands in .. Alarm didn't go off .So I really don't know if and how it works.I have FITCAMX so it's solves the problem of obstruction of the whole thing and makes it look OEM...

looks like that is the interior ambient air temperature sensor. the motion sensors are behind the grating on the overhead console

if the key is too close, i dont think it will trigger the alarm. you still can by opening the door via the interior handle, though

Here is the Dashcam I use in my 650. Very easy to install and it has instructions to follow. Plug n Play. FITCAMX Dashcam now available for the S650!

I looked at fitcam but it's not for me. They don't have starvis 2 sensor and that is a must these days on dashcams in low light.

What does it do? Tell the car how hot it is inside for the automatic airconditioning?

exactly. it sends info to the HVAC module to do auto climate control, both air and seats

Sure make sure to hide your camera in public parking lots... Night vision is really good quality...
I compared them and fitcam does not do the job in low light compared to the ViofoA329. Especially reading license plates.

Manual says alarm system for convertible or motion sensor
I have a coupe. Does the manual also point out to this exact sensor thing where you read the description from?

I think the manual is talking about something else.

I already understood what you said.
Now understand what I'm saying.

How do you know that the sensor I made a picture of is the one that the manual is talking about? There are also other sensors in the interior just like @roket said.
