I bet nobody “loves it” they just accept it and it becomes a reason to trade the car few years later. I would be curious if anyone actually likes the dial. I actually like the piano key shifter more than the dial. My wife also drove a lincoln briefly.It's like any other vehicle; you get used to it. I got my wife a Lincoln a few years back and it has push button transmission selection on the dash. I use it as a backup sometimes if she's not using it. No, it's not 'natural' because my other vehicles are different, but it works for her, she drives it daily.
When you start caning the car to extract performance, that rotary dial shifter is something you will not even think about.
