I love this car but the climate controls

So it is all well and good until you are baking in the New Mexico sun. My car can be 68 degrees but the sun beating through my windshield does not make it feel like 68.

Windshield tint with a high quality ceramic window film, which provides UV protection and heat rejection, will change your life. You can get it 90% or 80% and it won't darken the glass much at all. It makes a big difference and saves you and your interior from that baking New Mexico sun.

tap climate icon
2. Screen 2 - set to feet or face or both or recirculate
tap fan icon
3. Screen 3 - select fan speed

No reason all of that should not be on 1 screen. Including the seats also

I just use the "auto" setting exclusively. Set to 72 and let the car do the rest. About the only time I touch the climate control is to turn it off when I have the top down.

There's an off button? Only kidding. What I don't understand is when I turn off the A/C, why are the fans still running? If I turn off, the A/C or heat, why aren't the fans turning off? I know there is a separate fan slider but when the climate control is on automatic, it should include the fans. Since I am older, I will frequently pull over to make adjustments because you have to go through 2-3 screens to make a change. My younger self, would rather pay another toll, then to pull over. I am at the point, 3 months, where I am comfortable with the screens for the things I do daily. Since the last software update switching settings seems to stick better and is far less frustrating. However, I just noticed that the update screen no longer shows the last update version, whereas it always did before. The one thing I still find most frustrating is the screen lag time on start-up and when changing screens. The CPU needs to be updated to something fast, like an Apple A18. Glenn

In most cars with buttons I have driven if you have the A/C running with the blower on (obviously) and you press the A/C button to turn off the A/C the blower continues to run but in vent mode, so no compressor running.

What I did was enter the "Help mode" or whatever it's called and took pics of the 3 or 4 screens showing commands. There are many missing though from what I can tell.

While it is not complicated it is just wonky how it works.

I know what you mean. I'm 62 and have about 2100 miles on my Dark Horse and I am just getting the hang of it and can even do some stuff when driving. I'm pretty sure this car has stuff I have no idea about and never will LOL. But dam! I do love the car.

I think that's pretty normal. The A/C or Heat settings just control what function is selected. The fan controls if it's on or off or the speed. Just hit the fan button, select off. If I put the top back up I just hit the Auto button and I'm done. If I had a hard top I'd literally never touch it. Auto climate control is a really great function.

Audio controls are one thing but they should have kept the A/C controls as they were in S550. They were great. I have the dual zone control in my Mach 1 and S650 sounds like it is unchanged so it is horrible. Never gets the right temp. And now you have laggy screens to deal with to fix it versus a nice physical fan button and wheel for temp.

’24 Dark Horse is the coldest A/C I’ve experienced short of a walk in cold room or freezer. I’m saying have to turn up the temp to 74 when ambient is 108 to stay warm enough.
Once I got some saddle time finding the right temp range, it’s been great.

I would like physical controls but I’m getting the hang of it over time.

No they're not. Almost all new designs have all screen controls with only a couple exceptions.
