During the process of installing lowering springs on my '24 GT, I needed to torque down spacer nuts on the passenger side of the car. I usually use the powered Driver seat to wedge a cooler against the brake pedal so I can get that rotor held steady and torque the spacer nuts to 150ft-lbs.
Well I applied those brakes today having forgotten the DRIVER SIDE CALIPER IS ALSO OFF THE CAR. The caliper pistons ended up fully extending and wedging the brake pads together. It seems like it was quite the overexertion, because I noticed one of the pistons was very, very slowly leaking from under dust cover.
I used a C-Clamp to gently push the pistons back into place. I buttoned everything up, the brakes feel fine, and I took the car at slow speeds around the block for a few miles. Zero discernable leaks visible on the inside of the wheel's barrel... However there's no doubt something is damaged and (was) leaking. Perhaps a piston seal got rolled, stretched, or unseated? What should I do? I can't find reliable info on what type of brakes these cars even use or where to buy parts.
Any help or knowledge would be extremely appreciated, thank you! I am not an adept DIYer and this was a big mistake.
