... My car looks and drives fantastic and I get a lot of compliments and people often ask if it's a dark horse.
... So that's why I don't get the DH, enlighten me.
What you get is the ability to say YES, it's a Dark Horse.

The DH was not/is not $30K more than the GT ... unless you're stupid enough to pay $20K ADM.

Prior to buying my DH, I optioned out a GT with as much as I could get to make it the equivalent of the GT. INCLUDING the ~$8K I would have saved with my AZ Plan on the GT, the sticker was ~$11K more for the DH than the GT.
The delta was even smaller for me. Comparing an equivalently (as close as I could) optioned GT (with GT incentives at the time) to the DH, it was about an $8K premium for the latter. Worth every penny just for the Tremec alone.

The transmission is EVERYTHING to me. I was eyeing the '19 Bullitt but passed just because it didn't include the Tremec. Yet my trusty '09 BULZAYE does!

Bottomline is, if you care about your hard earned money being well spent… get a GT or GT premium. Not enough benefits to justify the DH over GT premium.
I disagree. The only incentive to get the GT are the incentives. If the Dark Horse was so privileged with incentives, EVERYONE would get one if they could.

I dont exactly agree with you, there is Leather seating, better stripe options, more/better interior options on the GT.

The dark horse is nice with better wheel sizes, a diff cooler and some forged internals, but I would rather take the extra 10k and put on a whipple.

I WISH I had a Dark Horse. I ain't too proud to say it. I wish I was rich too ! Pretty happy just to have a Mustang, and grateful I do.

Not that I don't like my GT Premium, but come on. Anyone who says they would rather have a GT over a Dark Horse is either drag racing or jealous. IMO.

Give me leather seats, get rid of the blue interior and give me the stripe options from the GT and then I would get a Dark Horse. I specifically did not order a dark horse because of the above. Though really glad I didn’t when I saw the issues here.

There is nothing to be jealous of. The dark horse I priced when comparing was 74k. My GT that I pick up on Monday is 62k. The extra 12k does not mean much to me. I would have either just liquidated a few more investments, or financed 24k instead of the 12k I am planning on.
I did not want it because it lacked what I wanted in my daily.

That's not true. I could have gotten a dark horse for the same price as my gt. $63k. I just prefer the way the gt front end looks lol Both look good, but everyone has a preference.

The aftermarket does better with leather and it's real. PPF takes care of stripes. There are a few more interior choices with the GT but not really worth the compromises over the improved performance of the DH. As for the $10K, the GT wouldn't have that advantage either if (once again) the DH had incentives.

I have the base GT with active exhaust and the A10 and I have now twice run up against a DH with the clunky 6 manual and beat them both times. So why?
Stock for stock I'm not totally convinced that the A10 is always faster. I have yet to see someone that really knows how to shift the M6 found in the DH.

Pretty much every review that I have seen shows bad launches and NO no-lift shifts. Yes, I have seen postings from more traditional sources that show the A10 with slightly better 0-60 and 1/4 numbers but none of those sources qualify how they got those numbers specifically.

The power to weight ratio is virtually identical so it all comes down to driver skill and I don't think many are that skilled with a manual.

so you are saying to get what I want I would have to pay the dark horse price and then pay a few thousand more to gut the interior and buy aftermarket stripes. That does not cover getting rid of the ugly deep indigo which I can’t stand.

The small bump in performance is not worth the comprise for me. I would rather get the interior I want and get a set of 10.5 and 11s and now look I have a 95% dark horse with no diff cooler.

Btw there are no incentives for GTs right now aside from interest rate. So are saying give the dark horse incentives and not the GT?

Wild that you don't like the s650 and don't plan on getting one but you're always on the s650 forum.
I use this site to watch for newer variants that might fix the shortcomings of the DH. I am glad some of you are crazy enough to pay the exorbitant prices for the new ones as it is keeping things alive for the possibility of a variant that might be worth the asking price.

The new variants will still have, as you called it "glued on iPads" and "Camaro styling" and you said that's why you don't want the s650.

They're not going to redesign all that for a variant.

You seem rather unhappy, and I do truly hope whatever it is going on in your life that is making you unhappy, improves dramatically.

This isn't really a debate. A10 is much faster and has been since 2018

Launches harder, more gears, faster shifts...
