Ok guys just found this, if it's a duplicate I apologize in advance!!

https://fordauthority.com/2025/09/s650-ford-mustang-hybrid-currently-in-development-exclusive/

now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that The Blue Oval currently has an S650 Ford Mustang hybrid model in operation – known internally as S650E. It’s unclear what sort of hybrid powertrain is present in this pony car – it could be a traditional hybrid or plug-in hybrid, however. It’s also unclear if this project will ever see the light of day, given the fact that the Trump administration has worked to relax fuel economy and emissions regulations for vehicles as of late, in general. That said, S650E prototypes are running around and have entered the Technology Prove-Out stage, meaning there’s mules being tested that likely feature some form of electrification.

Be interesting if it's a f150 powerboost style system or something completely different like driving the front wheels with an electric motor.

Eh, I'll reserve my hype for official reveals going forward. Between this and the Mach-4, no sense getting excited anymore for potential projects/products.

I doubt it until they make it official. When the C8 Stingray launched people easily found space in the central tunnel for batteries and indicators on some electrical components that showed that the base was ready to feature an hybrid system.

The S650 has afaik none of that. Adding a hybrid would mean a huge modification to the platform which is mostly identical to S550 most likely because of cutting costs. I don't see them investing into a hybrid S650 for a midcycle refresh, especially with sales going down.

The 4-door Mustang and Mustang raptor rumors also lead to nothing so far, so I won't get exicted for some very vague rumors about future models. From the prototypes driving around seems like the next thing we will see will be the Boss/GT500 model since that's already running around with production-near body.

maybe it will be a 4 door hybrid Mustang....stretch the chassis to make more room for more doors and more batteries lol

I have a ton of seat time in newer NSXs and I will say this....if done properly a battery/ ICE set up can be really fun ....acceleration of EV with sound of ICE and the integration on the NSX is flawless.....you would never know the electric motors are there unless you want to put in EV mode......of course the NSX also is very expensive because they use a ton of higher end materials to lighten up the car.....

Way too heavy! What ford should do, is make the Mustang body out of Aluminum. They certainly have had enough experience in making truck bodies. Can you imagine even an Eco-Boost weighing 400 pounds less? I can!

A 4-banger in the mach-e frunk would technically qualify but not sure that is the intent.

We all know it's not a question of if, but how and when.

My guess is it will be Ecoboost hybrid, as there is absolutely no room to do this on a S650 V8 without significantly modifying the chassis.

Would electric turbos qualify?

Did Jim Farley touch you wrong or something? You bring that guy up in every post.
No, it’s not every post. Ford is failing under Farley, and I’m a Ford guy. I don’t want to see it fail.

The question is…why does my comment of Farley bother you so much, that you notice it every time? Are you Jim Farley? Related to Jim Farley?
