No, it’s not every post. Ford is failing under Farley, and I’m a Ford guy. I don’t want to see it fail.

The question is…why does my comment of Farley bother you so much, that you notice it every time? Are you Jim Farley? Related to Jim Farley?

You definitely have a beef. Just curious what the bias is based on, as you never offer details to back up the argument.

I didn't even know who the guy was 6 months ago. But from what little I do know, hes pushing the performance end of Ford and the Mustang pretty hard, and advocating for the V8 to stay around. The GTD was his baby and I certainly wouldn't call that a failure. So it can't all be bad.

Now does Ford have some problems? Absolutely. Is he doing everything he can to fix it? No idea. But they have had them long before he was the CEO, and one guy doesn't make or break a company.

Most of the issues I see people having with him has to do with the contradictions. He pushed the performance yes, but always follows up with some weird statement..

I'm going to ask something that will sound cheeky initially. (TLDR: EcoBoost hybrid or GT hybrid?)

Let's say the Mustang gets a hybrid variant, but instead of going with the 5.0 they go with the EcoBoost for whatever reason. Do they make it like an unexpected fun performance paradox of a fuel-sipper like the Prius, or a performance/technology showcase like the C63?

Part of me wants to see the hybrid Mustang as the bridge between EcoBoost and GT using the 5.0, but I think using the Coyote would yield an E-Ray type of result, tens of thousands more expensive than the Dark Horse. Maybe it would slot between the DH and whatever they end up calling the "GT500" trim.

Whatever happens, I'm just watching and speculating.

They can build whatever POS voltmobile they like, I won't even look at one.
I identify as a V8 Mustang owner, and proud of it.

It's a good point. Plenty of cars are utilizing hybrid technology soley to boost performance, not for fuel economy.

A hybrid Mustang would probably perform better than the Ecoboost, and that doesnt bother me at all. Just as long in as they keep the V8.

Rather than focus on an individual, we need to look at the buyers trends. Their buying preferences mean hybrid power trains are here to stay (regardless of individual V8 bias). Electric vehicles have a unique niche and are here to stay as well, albeit in a relatively-small market segment. There is another trend which will tear at the heart strings of fast vehicle drivers; the eventual switch away from manual trannies. No need for 'over my dead body' statements as the handwriting is on the wall as it were.

We all know it's not a question of if, but how and when.

My guess is it will be Ecoboost hybrid, as there is absolutely no room to do this on a S650 V8 without significantly modifying the chassis.
For a FHEV you only need space for a 1.5kWh battery or similar which many car makers including Ford fit under the passenger seat of the car so that isn't an issue.

You then just need to add an electric motor to the 10R80 which already exists. Similar to how ZF hybridise their gearbox.

I would think pretty easy to achieve without to much space problem.

PHEV is a non-starter however.

I sure wish someone would name the almighty perfect and great car manufacturer without problems, recalls, and bad dealers. I really want to know who this car maker is. Not many people seem to understand the complexity of designing, manufacturing and selling a car to the public. I do since I was once over a Ford Tier 1 supplier. Their competition has the exact same problems and successes. It also never ceases to amaze me how people knowingly buy a car that isn't perfect then get on forums and bash them. Go figure.

Which is something completely different!

An e-turbo as used for example by AMG doesn't in itself create a hybrid propulsion system for the car. It just improves turbo response. By definition a hybrid uses two or more distinct types of power such as ICE and electric to power the vehicle. In the case of the e-turbo the e-turbo itself cannot directly power the car only boost the ICE and so doesn't qualify as a hybrid propulsion system.

Or even better don't own the car but still go on the forum and bash them!
