It's already on the bottom of your screen bud.
No I’m talking about on the actual screen bud, it says “N” or “R” where the gear display would be. I attached an image to show what I’m talking about.

That's only on manual transmission cars. Autos already have it at the bottom of the sceen where I circled. This does not change when you enable continuous gear display.

That's a nice find. It should be changable in Forscan, also on the automatic. Only need to find the right adress.

I made this change and am really happy with it. Helps me understand what the car is doing and when it's shifting, so I know to correlate what I feel with the transmission actions to better detect any issues. Wish I had done it sooner.

Well said. It helps me understand what its going to do under different throttle inputs.

Ive also noticed that when you use the paddles, it holds that gear for exactly 5 seconds before going back to auto.

Hi, dont mind the user name as I am known as WolfMxbee on the mustang 6g forums but guess i had an old account and it doesnt transfer over, anyways I am doing a S650 dash swap and got the cluster to work perfectly with the exception of the stupid PRNDL displaying, I have a manual and seen that lines 720-02-01 affect the PRNDL, what coding would delete this?

It is possible to enable this. “Performance Shift” and “Performance Shift Indicator” both need to be enabled in FORScan in both the APIM and IPC modules. After that you need to configure it in the Track Apps for your specific drive mode. It will then show up when you put your shifter into “M” mode.

If it’s not showing up in your track apps, just triple check all your FORScan edits

for some reason it worked, but it disappeared on the track app every time that I turn off my car and then I need to do the whole FORScan thing again

Here's a photo of how my instrument cluster is now, and where the gears are displayed. Small gear icon next to the "M" icon at the bottom, as well as a larger gear icon on the left opposite the speedometer. Both numbers display when the car is in "D" or "M."

Here are all of the steps that I took to get a 101A non-HPP EcoBoost to work with paddle shifters.

- Install new steering wheel (I went with Dark Horse for the black trim, but any GT wheel with paddles should work). Wiring harnesses are the same with the exception of the heated steering wheel option, which was not available on my car. There are a few YouTube videos on this for step-by-step instructions if you need it.
- Enable Select Shift in FORScan (PCM 7E0-03-01 xxxx xxxx x*--) change 1 to a 2. This will make the "L" selection on your gear shifter behave like "M" should but will not change it on your instrument cluster
- Enable Gear Select SST in FORScan (IPC 720-02-01 *xxx xxxx xx--) change 0 to a 4. This is what changed the "L" on my instrument cluster to "M" to actually show gears.
- Enable Continuous Gear Display in FORScan (IPC 720-12-01 xx*x xxxx xx--) change C to E or just use "easy mode" for this swap.

And that's it. Made a few other changes while I had FORScan connected and will likely continue to tweak things as I dig a little deeper into Livnitup's spreadsheet, but that's all that was required to get paddle shifters working which was one of the main features I was missing from my S550.

Hi there, maybe I could use your help. I added the Dark Horse steering wheel to get the paddle shifters. That all works great, I enabled the continuous gear display. When I am in sport mode the gear number displays next to the M and in my tach display. but it won't work on any other drive mode. When in Sport mode the gears show the changing numbers. When in manual, the gear numbers also work. Any thoughts?

So what are you missing?
- Paddle shifters function correctly and shift when in regular "D" or "L/M" mode
- When in "L/M" mode you see your gear display at the bottom of the instrument cluster and next to the tach and they change correctly
- But you don't see either gear displayed when in regular "D" mode?

If that's the case, it seems like the install and FORScan changes to get everything working all are good. You just don't actually have Continuous Gear Display turned on. Did you turn that on in FORScan using the "Easy Mode," or did you update the actual values based on the spreadsheet?
