Is there any reason why the Dark Horse isn’t under the Ford Performance umbrella? The ST series SUV’s and Raptor Trucks all sport FP badging so how did the DH especially with it’s motorsports presence?

if youre referring to the Ford webpage, thats just how they categorize it, those are just the "top of the line" specs of their respective cars, the GTD being the mustangs. Ford considers every V8 mustang to be "performance" and Ford Performance itself focuses on all of the racecars under the Ford umbrella

I believe it begins with the Dark Horse R, and from there of course the GTD

Off of the Ford Performance site or eBay as @Q6543 said.

Neither were the Mach 1 or Shelbys. In fact, I can't remember the last time a Mustang was considered coming from Ford Performance. Maybe it needs the SC.

I’m referencing the lack or Ford Performance marketing and badging.
The Dark Horse is not a Ford Performance model. It is currently considering the top of the regular Mustang lineup. That’s what we were told when it was first announced.
I know but it’s just silly that an SUV sports Ford Performance branding.

The GT350 and GT500 have Ford Performance marked strut tower braces and sill plates.

marketing is because the Mustang is in almost every racing series available, people know its a performance car. Badging is because the Mustang name carries as much or more weight than Ford Performance. There's a reason why the Mustang runs the pony badge, 5.0, or dark horse badge and the only places Ford is seen is the windshield and engine cover

A couple of FP parts doesn’t make the car.
Wow, a few years go by and everyone forgets history. The GT350s were 100% Ford Performance. Ford Racing (FP) even created the Niche-line at the Romeo Michigan plant just to build the Voodoo engines. Some might say that this is a bit more than just “Badging”.
SVT and Ford Racing merged to become Ford Performance. Mustangs are obviously performance cars but few fell under the umbrella of Ford Performance. I would be the first one to admit that “special” doesn’t always make it better, just different. Whatever you drive, just take care of it and enjoy.
Cheers.
