FORD: One of the worst

2025 GT premium. First mustang and the worst vehicle I’ve bought (I’ve had over 15 cars/SUV’s). Ford does the over the air updates and it erases key features I had set. Quiet exhaust mode does not stay set to the times I set it. Now after the update the ambient light feature is no longer in settings, where did it go, I hav no idea. Crappy interior materials that have scratched, and I’m a clean freak and keep my cars spotless, all with ceramic coat and PPF, so I care about paint and interior cleanliness. I could go on with the other few little annoyances but I’ll end my rant as I feel better telling the world ha. Thanks for reading

Sorry to her about your issues. Nothing I can say will make you feel any differently. This just might not be the car for you. Unless, of course, you can overlook the electronics and interior quality and just enjoy rowing the gears in your 480HP monster.

If it's the worst vehicle you've bought for the itemized list you've posted here plus the 'other few annoyances' you should probably stick with uber or lyft.

The OTA update settings loss is all over the M7g forum and it doesn't take an OTA update to lose your settings, sometimes the relevant module will reset all by itself.

Ambient lighting is set with the center stack ; Mustang menu ; my colors or custom colors- whatever it's called. There's a pair of sliders and below that is a swappable button for ambient lighting. Custom colors, ambient lighting and alarm prompt on exit get reset by -I think- ALL OTA updates and when the module randomly resets. It's annoying, and happened to me many times.

But hey, I'll give you $750 for the car outright. No sense holding on to the worst car you've ever owned, and I'm sure my wife would love it.

Fortunately, this is something we have control over and can fix most of the time, but it requires FORScan to do so.

Sync 4 has its quirks and settings reverting from what you set them to happens to all Sync 4 vehicles.

In terms of ambient lighting no longer being in the settings: I have seen cases where an OTA update mistakenly changes the config within a module where it disables a feature that should be enabled. Fortunately, this is something we have control over and can fix most of the time, but it requires FORScan to do so.

Message me the VIN and I can check the config to see if that is what happened in your case.

Lmao a lot of butthurt Ford fans!! I’m hurt bc I thought a car with a 63k msrp would be a sweet spot for value, fun, and ergonomics. I’ve loved the coyote since its inception, had a 6th Camaro 1ss and a new charger hellcat, now trying out the pony car and after 4k miles I’d hoped to be settled in for the long haul with this platform… still undecided on that

If you know how to pull the as-built data on your car, check what you have in this bit of the APIM. If the value you have in that location coincides with "AL not available", then that is why your ambient lightning is no longer there. If that is the case, it is a very easy fix.
