Here's short video from the camera.

Good quality camera. When does it turn off? When you turn off the engine? When you turn off the engine and close the doors? Or just like how the USB operates, and shuts off 30 minutes achter everything is off?

Also, I was digging deeper in this dashcam thing.

How is the Fitcamx during the night?
Does it read licenes plates?

I've learned that a dashcam without the Starvis 2 sensor (to read signs and plates at night) is worthless.

The S650 does have a battery monitor will shut down systems (including the remote monitoring, remote start, and such) if the battery goes low, the risk of an excessive battery drainage doesn't exist if you plug it in the usb port(s).
If you hardwire it, it could be different (it depends of where you connect it...), however all the dashcams with the parking recording have a battery monitor system as well (internally or via hardwire kit) where you can set the minimum voltage when the cam will shut down completely.

Actually i'm using the usb mirror port, coz i found it enough for my usage: always on during driving and around 30 minutes of recording while I leave the car for short shopping and such. I do have a hardwire kit (I was using in the S550), but most of the time I leave my car in the garage or controlled parkings for long time, so I didn't wanted to mess again with the wires... the usb port there with a short cable is so convenient.

Is the USB port behind the mirror power the dashcam 24/7?

Nope, for a certain amount of time (for me it's around 30 minutes I think?). You can set a range via ForScan if I'm not wrong, however it couldn't be 24/7.

I installed this today on the Mustang GT.

The only hard part was prying off the sides of the housing.
Once that is off its easy to remove the yellow clips off of the old housing and place on the new and push it back on.
There definitely isn't that much room though to work with when you have to shove that Y/pigtail cable back in, and I left the rear cam cable out and just stuffed it up into the headliner area for now. Rear window is tinted and I dont want to place the adhesive over the tint, so thinking of mounting on rear deck in back as long as spoiler doesn't block the view too much. Or rig something to hold it to the headliner with clips.

Basically just disconnect the plug from the rain sensor which is on the left/drivers side, plug that into the Y connector that has the foam on it, plug the other side of the Y connector back into the rain sensor, and the other round end connector to the round connector that powers the dashcam.
There is another round connector coming out of the dashcam housing thats for the rear cam.

Had to fight Android Auto's constant prompting to connect so I could free up WiFi and connect to the camera to adjust the settings on the dashcam. Nice app though. There's a way to turn off the G-Sensor which is great b/c my subs would have set it off constantly in the future. You also want to format the card in settings and your done. Looks like factory, and wouldn't be able to tell otherwise aside from camera buttons.

Kit came with a nice USB card reader too for SD and microSD cards.

Is anyone running the camera AND a radar detector (V1 Gen2) from the rain sensor power at the same time? Any side effects?

BlackVue also has a battery kit that you can buy. I don't have those, but have BlackVues in all of our vehicles. There is a bit of an issue when they update their app, as cameras occasionally fight to not allow you to re-install them in the app, but otherwise the cameras are flawless. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Can you share some footage (when you have it) from the camera's? Especially night driving shots (I know we are all wondering how it will do in low light with capturing license plates).
Also, which resolution did you get? The 4k or the 1440p?

Thanks for your input!!!

Curious about this as well.

There are cable sets on Amazon that connect to the rain sensor power and provide you with a 12V source (for radar detector) and a USB source (for dashcam). That way you can use your choice of dashcam +radar detector.

But not sure if it's enough current for both devices simultaneously, especially when the radar detector is blaring and drawing more power.

They are about $31-35, this is just one example, search "Ford 3 pin rain sensor connector" to find them:

I got the 2K(1440p) version. That way the file sizes aren't as big as 4K. I'll share a clip Friday at some point, but I don't do much night driving.

Yea.
I used the wiring kit similar to the one you posted to power my V1 Gen2 and It's worked fine.
I've been looking at the FitcamX because I don't want a camera hanging from my das/window. Prefer to be more discreet.

Since I would be interested in monitoring while parked from what I can tell, I need to hard wire it to the fuse box anyway so that would solve the problem.

FWIW, I have had zero problems with the V1 Gen2 wired to the rain sensor.
But adding the FitcamX seems like it would be too much current draw. At least to me.
