Ford Dashcam vs. 3rd Party Dashcam

Hello Ford lover :-)

My Dark Horse is coming soon, build data is scheduled on 8/21. I'd like to record my fun driving by dashcam. Also dashcam helps me unexpected damage like collision and parking damage. (I had an experience to win insurance for collision with 100% responsibility by opponent thanks to recoding dashcam evidence !!)

Then question for current Ford drivers.
Which is better choice, install Ford accessories option like below or 3rd party dashcam (like by from Amazon) ?

If you used (or currently using) Ford dashcam, could you share Pros. & Cons from your experiences ?

IMO, you'd be crazy if you purchased a new dash cam that does not use the latest Starvis 2 sensor.
Right now, there are only two models using it, the Viofo A139Pro and the Thinkware U3000.
Expect others in the coming months.

A dash cam is useless unless it can clearly show license plates at speed in low light, and this is where the newest image sensor helps.
I seriously wouldn't cheap out here after spending how much on a car???

Can’t belive nobody’s mentioned Fitcamx. Their design is so seemlessly intergrated I hate the price tag but definitely will be worth it no wires and no stick on camera. It’s OEM plus really.

If you want something that looks cool then sure. If you want something that performs well and will use it to back up your $60k car purchase then get something else.

This isn't "Ford stuff" it's a 3rd party cam Ford sells on their site. They're are plenty of sites that aren't Amazon you can buy from.

Here is that exact cam for $109 less than Ford directly from the manufacturer's site.

Although like it has been mentioned many times in here and the dash cam thread, anything without a Starvis 2 sensor is not recommended.
