Finally decided to take the plunge on a new SS650, but I can't find a base model/manual in our state--when will it be too late to order?

An update to my earlier post--found a local dealer to do buy the out of state car and it should be here next week.
Base GT, manual--301 package and the 19" silver rims. We're pretty pumped at finally getting the car we want.
BTW, for a comparison, we drove a base ecoboost and I have to say, for the $ you get a nice car.
The car had great power relative to out '16' EB and with the 10 spd auto it was surprisingly quick.
Had they offered the car with a manual/perf. suspension we might have gone with it.

On the downside, the auto setup was way less involving and the exhaust--while a little better than our car--was still muted.

Sounds good. You're getting a step up above the 300A. Can't remember what the difference was. Maybe try the Steeds short throw Tri-Ax shifter. Helps shifting greatly. They even offer aluminum shifter balls in four colors. Not a very expensive worthwhile edition. I put one on mine. I also put the Tremec model on our two Dark Horses.

What's the cheapest you found a base? Looks like 42500 after processing fee is what I have found for base GT, auto. Plus tax.

For 2025's that sounds about right. 2024 base GTs were under 40K in May-June 2024.

Lowest prices tend to be mid-Atlantic volume dealers: Ourisman, Koons, Sheehy in the MD/VA area. Some of those franchises have multiple locations in that area. They'll advertise like 6-7K under MSRP (+1K processing fee, so ultimately 5-6K under MSRP before tax).

Whether to buy now is kind of a gamble on whether you think prices will rise later this year due to tariffs, or drop due to economic decline and decreased demand. Usually year-end brings better deals especially for sportscars, but who knows what things will be like in a few months.

If you're satisfied with a decent deal, now is a good time to buy. If you're an extreme optimizer seeking the best deal, may want to wait. Also, if you really value a custom spec, now is a good time to buy to lock in that employee discount on a custom order. I think usually custom orders will not see such significant discounts.
