You could measure how many quarts come out. When I do my DIY oil change I always put the oil in 1 gallon milk jugs and it gets picked up during our curbside recycling. I will record how much drains out of mine. I'm curious now.
As long as I’m not consuming oil I’m good lol. Well overly consuming. I know some will happen. What oil are you going to be using?

The specified Motocraft 5W30. However I'm going to use the full synthetic instead of the blend and OEM specified FL500S oil filter. Got it free using some of my rewards points.

Scroll up. There was a bit of a conversation about synthetic vs blend. I’m still undecided.

You're going to not use the synthetic because someone said they read on another forum people with synthetic have the tick?

Synthetic > blend or regular

But keep in mind your average owner will be just fine with the blend as long as they change the oil often...

Undecided on if I will use motor craft, amsoil, or the blend. I think the reason ford uses blend is for cost savings.

Because you're paying 3x as much for oil to get....what?
I do a lot of nerding out on the internet when I have time. From my findings it seems to be regarded that amsoil signature series along with popular things like penzoil ultra platinum and maybe a few others is some of the best oil you can buy. I won’t write a thesis on the topic but it isn’t hard to find threads, studies, and data supporting the analysis. I’m sure some could be found on mustang 6 or 7g. The idea behind finding a top oil is to ensure the best quality and consistency goes into my motor. I think it’s important to recognize that there are differences in oils. Otherwise we would all be running the 5w-30 Walmart buy 1 get 1 free special in our mustangs.

Ford claims it can definitely last beyond 5k
have you done oil analysis on the blend? Cause from mine with TBN testing on Pennzoil Platinum and the Quaker State Ultimate full synthetics the viscosity readings come back just under a 30weight most likely from the heat these engines run at. I do 5k changes too.

That WalMart Supertech synthetic has good reviews and was also showing good oil analysis out if my 2.7 Ecoboost in my F150 too with 5k changes.

Awesome to hear it. That’s definitely surprising considering the other offerings that are available but hey if it works it works.

Their marketing works well

It's about the equivalent of giving your pet hamster Evian or Fiji in his water bottle
