Thanks for the update! So in other words, just tighten the screws as much as humanly possible lolol. Doubt it’ll damage anything. The seller said they should be back in stock on it next week. Should I buy them when they arrive or wait for a new design you’re discussing?
Nope. Scan the code. Possible it’s over oiled and your MAF sensor got hit with oil, or the filters aren’t 100% seated against the intake hose and air is seeping out. Or, it’s neither of those and the CEL is just a coincidence and it’s something else.
Oh so it was barely loose it seems. Put some thread locker on the retainer, stuff something on that thing, will be mint. From the pictures, they do look a little long compared to the OE, probably looks much better in person. I’ll give it a shot when they go back in stock LMFAO. There’s was no...
Also, we can look into similar dimensions just slightly shorter. Those are 7.5”. Can try to find one that’s 6-6.5” and honestly you may not need to adjust anything at all. You just sacrifice an inch or so of length popping out the valance but that’s not a huge deal
Don’t even need to do that tbh. People are selling OE dark horse axle backs for like $200. But you’d need to replace your axle back and a new valance; or, cut your tips off, weld DH ones on. Still new valance.
These are fine that you found. They look incredible. By loose, how “loose” is yours...
They aren’t symmetrical. That’s 100% the problem. There are manufacturing differences from left to right, so that’ll definitely explain it. What’s your plan with the wrap? Do you put on the factory tip right where it narrows down then slide the new over it?
LMAOOO yeah. Dark horse tips are fantastic man. Sucks they aren’t bolted. They’re part of the resonator, so the only realistic way to get them is to either replace a GT’s entire resonator (axle back) with a dark horse’s, or, cut a dark horses tips off, and weld it onto the gt resonator.
Possible. I’ve seen 4.5 - 5. The problem is the GT’s valance can’t accept a 4.5+ without risk to it, because then it’ll be too close and may rub or tap it at high heat and melt it. 4 is kinda max on a GT active exhaust valance
No. I was asking what the difference was from the ones OP linked, and the ones I linked. The ones I linked have a wider O.D, therefore it may rub against the valance. The dark horse has 4.5” tips. The GT valance cannot support it. That’s all I was asking and saying.
Only real fix is either as you said like wrap or shims, or, a sleeve with those dimensions just shorter. Because if you don’t shim and decide to just pull it out so it clamps onto the tip itself, it’ll be extremely long.
