Anybody have any insight into what model year we will see a refresh? google says 26 or 27, sounds about right probably. we should start to see some 26 news this summer, curious if they change anything. or could get a new trim level maybe.

After only two years? I sure wouldn’t think so. What’s to be gained by going to the expense? Like them or not, the S650 still looks fresh and new alongside a ‘23. And the supposed sales slowdown that seems to be a recent favorite topic in these parts certainly isn’t attributable to dated styling.

A new trim level, maybe, who knows. But that’s not a refresh by any stretch.

I have said all along, and still maintain that the next significant change we see will be a hybrid or associated accommodations.

I expect a GT500 Trim next year, but can only guess what will be included. A new engine for sure, but whether it's a supercharger or upgraded V8, we will have to wait.

I think 2028, they need to cut costs wherever possible, adding time between refreshes will help..

I think they should go the challenger route and just only tweak here n there for another decade.

IDK man, the s550 was a far more radical visual change to the '14 cars han the s650 was to the s550, and we still got an s550 refresh after a couple of years.

My guess is we see a mule start testing this year, with a release in the next 18 months.

I would expect the S650 to be around for 7-10 years before there is a true redesign. I would expect a minor update or minimal facelift refresh around 2028-2029.

True redesign maybe around 2031-2034 (that would be 7-10 years from 2024). Could be wrong who knows. Just my 2 cents. The whole world could be radically different by then based on how things have been going lol

I‘d be pleasantly shocked if it were a [NA] upgraded V8; it’d have to be 575+ hp to get anybody’s attention and Ford has shown that’s kinda getting into the edgy zone of long-term warrantable reliability. So that pretty much leaves the 750 hp supercharged thing, which is becoming old hat anymore. Too many contenders in that niche and no real news. Plus, what would that beast weigh by then?

IDK, maybe they can pull it off but it’s unlikely to matter much to me personally. Figure ~$100K sticker + ADM, then add in the requisite Barrett-Jackson tax and suddenly you’re staring $150 large in the face. Good chance I’d sit tight. Still be fun to know it was out there.

If there is going to be a refresh, I would guess model year 27 or 28 since rumors are a newly redesigned mustang in 2030. There may not even be a refresh.

If we do see a refresh, my guess is visually, we might see some inspiration from the GTD here and there. As for the interior, I'm willing to bet they go back to the dual cowl interior, maybe with dual screens in front of the passenger and driver so they could keep the screens, while making things more symetrical.

I know people don't like the screens not within dash, but I prefer it because screens will fail and much easier to replace.

I wonder if they'll debut the Mach-4 before or at the same time as the Mustang refresh.

I can't imagine there would be a redesign so soon after the launch of the 7th gen (that was basically a redesign of the 6th gen). There is no competition! The camaro, challenger and charger are all gone. The reason Ford did a refresh at the end of 2017 for the 2018 model year is because the camaro and challenger got more power and new styling at that same period in time. Nothing is pushing Ford to stick more money into the mustang right now.

I can see new special editions coming out, perhaps more trim levels as well and new options but that design will probably be around for a while.

My company produces a major sub-assembly for ~70% of all North American market Ford and Lincoln SUVs, light trucks (F150 and SD), and the S650. The only comms ATM regarding S650 refresh is targeting 2029.

Thanks for all the information, yeah hard to say what Ford has planned, my guess is 2027 a refresh probably, might see a new trim level 2026. Just checked the sales numbers and Ford sold 4,186 Mustangs for March 2025, at least an improvement over the past 6 months in the 2 thousands per month. Want sales to be good enough to keep Ford making it.
