Anyone try this yet? A10 here, 1800 miles, the last few hundred miles it's been hunting for gears at times, more frequently hanging a lot in 4th or 5th around 4K RPM. Seems the Adaptive learning didn't figure me out and is confused.

I see on older models and 10r80 in general the TCM can be reset, anyone know if this or the various procedures work on the 2024's?

Happy Fourth to my fellow Americans, celebrate freedom and stay safe

You can reset the TCM learned behavior with FORSCAN, a laptop, and an OBD2 doggle. Pretty easy to do. Takes about 2 minutes and your done. These cars have "Keep Alive Memory" so disconnecting the battery does nothing. You need to reset the TCM with FORSCAN.

I second this. I haven’t had any complaints in the 10R80 in my S650, but when I bought my S550 the shifting seemed off. I bought the cable and used Forscan just for the purpose of resetting the learning mode.

Edit: I should add I tried resetting my S550 by disconnecting the battery and I couldn’t ever get it to work.

Thanks, hundreds of cables on the market, any brand to stay away from, or recommend?

Much appreciated
You bet.

Your location in your profile says "USA". While that's great, it doesn't help you when others might want to offer a hand, but need to know where you live. You should put your state there.

I'm in SE Michigan ... I have both an OBDLink MX for FORScan and the Mongoose-Plus for using FDRS to update all the modules in your Ford and Lincoln vehicles - nice when you're endlessly waiting for an OTA update for something.

Nice, now maybe a stupid question, does this leave a footprint on the PCM or anything that would cause warranty issues?
None that I have seen personally from my use, but I don't know for certain. I would hope the Right to Repair law would protect anyone if they're doing just a regular reset, and not making modifications.

Yes, they can tell its been changed, even if you revert it back. But I've been doing this for close to 10 years and I've never heard a single example of a change resulting in a warranty claim being denied.

It's no different than any other modification you do to your vehicle. If they can prove that the modification was the root cause of the failure of a covered part or repair, they could technically deny the claim for the affected part. But that's how manufacturer's warranties have worked forever.

Still new to Forscan. How do you do it exactly? My PP is not redlining in high gears. It shifts early at like 6k rpm.
